Reducing stress, painting and drawing at Bernried Monastery on Lake Starnberg

Bernried Monastery is beautifully situated. A place of peace and contemplation. Wonderful to swim in the lake every day. Excellent cuisine, especially the cake in the afternoon was heavenly. The room was simple, small, clean and the view of the lake very beautiful. The instructor Tanja Gnatz has a warm-hearted charisma and picks up everyone where they are. She gave a lot of good artistic advice. The overall "Bernried" package was very harmonious and I felt very comfortable.

Hello dear retreat team, I am completely enthusiastic, the 5-day course was varied and I have taken home a lot of things I learned. I can highly recommend Tanja Gnatz. Super course! Very nice, sympathetic and competent course instructor.

They were wonderful days in Bernried. As an inexperienced painter, Tanja took me along well and took away my fear of brushes and paint. Through short theory units you quickly understand how it can succeed. The monastery is a wonderful place. Directly on the lake, everyone can jump in the water in the morning, at noon and in the evening, some even in the rain ;-). The lake inspires one, with its colors, to bring them on paper. I was certainly not the last time there. The beginning is made. Thank you Tanja and all participants. When I think of mango, I taste yellow.

It was an intensive week in which I think I took a good step forward. Great atmosphere, sympathetic group, competent and approachable leader - and excellent food.

The monastery is wonderful for rest and relaxation, against a beautiful lake backdrop. The rooms are simply but comfortably furnished and the food delicious & varied. The painting course with Tanja was fantastic. Positive, humorous atmosphere, lots of room for own ideas, competent guidance, super nice people and a teacher who takes her time. I can only recommend!

An impressive and incredibly beautiful event. Behind thick monastery walls you come to rest and meet with dear people who are also looking for this peace. I discovered the hobby of painting only here and it was - especially thanks to the course leader Tanja Gnatz - a real magic. She understood it, empathetic on the one hand, motivating on the other hand to me (and everyone else) to respond. For me it was a (short) vacation of superlatives. Thank you very much, Tanja!
