What is Retreat Vacation?
Retreat Vacation is a platform that has made it its mission to unite the most interesting timeouts in the field of yoga, detox, creativity and sports and to present them on one platform in a beautiful and clear way.
We ourselves had the problem that there are a lot of exciting providers - but you can't find them well for the most part. Therefore, we bundle the offers and create with a beautiful and easy-to-use interface exactly the website that we ourselves always wanted to have.
For more than 4 years we have been offering our providers a platform to present their own offers to a large number of people in German-speaking countries. We always try to use the latest technologies - so that our providers can concentrate on their content and retreats and still benefit from the new possibilities. For example, 4 years ago we already built our website in such a way that it can be viewed perfectly on any smartphone. Today, we are not only using various social media channels, but we are also focusing on the revolution in voice assistants (Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant, ...) and being present there together with our providers.
Who is behind Retreat Vacation?
We are Fabian & Alex and ourselves totally enthusiastic about different retreats and getaways - especially if you bundle different topics and bring them together, such as yoga & surf retreats. So we built the platform for us too, so we don't have to spend hours wandering around the internet to find the really exciting getaways. Now, with Retreat Vacations, we can simply enter the theme, month and/or location and get many different offers displayed directly. So just what we always wanted!
How does Retreat Vacation work?
We always try to make it as easy as possible for our providers to participate in Retreat Vacation. Here is a brief summary of the most important information:
You can register directly here on the page.
You can then post your offers independently - after all, you know best what there is interesting to say about your retreat
You can make as many live offers as you like - this is completely free for you
If one of our visitors makes an inquiry via our website, we will forward all information directly to you. You can then clarify all open questions and the contractual with the interested party.
If a booking is made, we will charge you a commission for our efforts and our own advertising costs
So you only have costs through us if you also earn something yourself
This is the simple principle and for many years the success model of Retreat Vacation.
How do I post my offers?
It's very easy: Log in to Retreat Vacation (top right you will find the red button "Partner-Login"). You will then get to your overview. There you will also see the item "Create entry". Just click here and you will be directed to a form where you can enter all relevant information. At the end you can save your offer either as a "draft" or as a finished "entry". If you save it as a draft, then you can rework your listing later at your leisure and then make it live.
How do you write an offer that interests people?
Over the years, we have crystallized the 5 most important points that determine whether you get many requests or not:
. 1) Create texts that are made specifically for our platform
. Time and time again we see people just copying their flyer or their own website texts directly. We understand why people want to save themselves the work of creating texts. But if you want a lot of inquiries, then you should take the time and actually write something relevant and interesting for our individual form areas. This is the most important point of all! 2) Set your offer early
. Our system works best if you enter your retreat 4-6 months before it starts, giving us enough time to spread this information. We cannot emphasize this time component often enough. Our tip: Think early about which retreata you want to do in the coming year.
3rd) The first image must be particularly appealing.
Our users see many different preview images on an overview. Mostly you filter very precisely according to certain specifications (topic, place and time), but even then you are still left with many different retreats. The first image is therefore important to be perceived as interesting and clicked on. Take here a nice picture and no boring flyer or similar.
4th) Put your services and content clearly out
. This may sound too simple - but you would not believe how many queries the providers receive because the services are not clearly formulated. Try to put yourself in the position of the prospective customer: Can this be understood without any special knowledge of what will happen and exactly what I will get for the price? If not, then sharpen your texts and the included services. Our tip: We have specially introduced a rubric services. Here you can outline everything that is included - and also what extra (optional) services the prospective customer can book. This overview helps just if one would like to get first a rough overview.
5th) What makes your offer so special?
This is the supreme discipline. If you have considered all the above points, you can venture here. Try to explain why your retreat is different. What makes it different? What is special about it? Why should everyone book this retreat right away? What does staying with you give me?
With these tips and tricks nothing can go wrong and we will try to get you as many requests as possible. Good luck!
What is not allowed to write in an offer?
In order to ensure the uniformity of the offers and to make it as easy as possible for our users, the following information is NOT allowed to appear in the offer: telephone number, homepage/website/URL or e-mail addresses. Contact information, for example, about the accommodation may be provided to the interested party after the request.
What is the difference between draft and live in a quote?
You can save any of your quotes as a draft first. This means that you can edit the offer, but it is not yet live on the website for our visitors to see. This is useful for example to create an offer first and adjust it later. Or even if you don't want to advertise an offer at the moment - but want to present it on the website again later. Also then you can put an offer back into "draft" mode at any time.
What happens if the offer is no longer current?
Offers that are bookable virtually year-round will always remain online on Retreat Vacations. When you post an offer for a specific date, our system checks for you every day to see if the first day of your retreat has already started. On this day, your offer will be put back into "draft" mode and is therefore no longer visible to our visitors and also no longer bookable. This way we always have only current offers on the platform. If your offer includes several dates, then the offer will only be set to draft when the last(!) date has started.
Can you post my offer for me?
We would love to do that, but it has proven to be unmanageable. With the large number of listings on the site and the many changes that are made daily, it's simply not possible for us. But we make it as easy as possible for you: There is a very simple and clear form where you can enter all information. Normally, everyone gets along well with it.
I get an error message when entering my quote - what should I do?
Here and there you may get an error. What exactly the error is, is shown to you in red above. So you can easily fix the particular info and save it again.
The most common problems are these:
1.) It takes forever for the offer to be saved and the page doesn't change
. → This is mostly because you are trying to upload very many large images at once. In this case, your interprovider may not be able to process these large amounts as quickly.
Try uploading only one image at a time when you first create your listing. Once it's saved, you can change it as many times as you want and upload more images - but then all the other info is already saved.
2nd) No GoogleMaps map is shown or a wrong location is shown or the offer is shown in a wrong state or country
. → Where you can enter your address, we use Google Maps. Try entering only the city and the street and wait a second: then Google will suggest you a suitable entry. Select it and save your offer. Then everything should be correct.
What happens when a prospect makes an inquiry?
When one of our visitors makes a request for your offer through our website, we forward all the information directly to you. You will receive the information to the e-mail address that is stored in your profile (by the way, this is also the address that you can use to log in to our system). You can then contact the interested party and clarify all outstanding issues and the contractual with him. The contract is then directly between you and the interested party. This is the easiest way for all sides.
Anything I need to note about the requests or report back?
In order to have an overview of the responses to requests and to be able to gradually optimize the platform for Dic, we need you to provide feedback on whether a request was successful or not. You can enter the feedback directly in the system under the item "Booking requests". If it came to a booking, then you can also enter the total amount of the booking, from this we then calculate the commission and send you a commission invoice. Please note: The timely feedback on your part is mandatory.
How much is the commission if there is a successful booking?
In order to operate the platform and especially to be able to effectively advertise your offers on different channels, we take a commission of 20% on the total booking amount for successful bookings initiated through our platform. Besides that you have no hidden costs. That means: You only pay something if you earn something through us. That sounds fair, doesn't it?
What happens to the commission if the booking subsequently does not materialize after all?
Basically, we want to present offers that are actually carried out. This is very important for our visitors. Always remember: on the other side is someone who may have already taken a vacation and booked a flight or a train trip. However, if the interested party or you as the provider cancel the retreat, we will refund the entire commission. So you have no risk at this point.
In addition, we will accommodate you as much as possible: A commission invoice will be triggered only on the 1st day of the retreat. So you have enough time to collect the money from the prospect before we charge you.
On which platforms do you advertise my offer?
We are always trying out new and different forms of advertising. From therefore we can not say so explicitly. Basically, however, we are on different social media platforms and are currently trying to place the offers increasingly in the area of voice assistants (Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant). In any case, you can be sure that we are always there where we find the most interested parties for your offers!
I can't log in / Supposedly I'm using an unknown email address, what should I do?
Basically, your account is always linked to the email address you have stored in your profile. Sometimes it is the case that someone registers with one e-mail address and later stores another e-mail address in the profile. Then this e-mail address is also valid for a subsequent registration on our site.
. Please note: To the e-mail address stored in the profile we also send the requests of interested parties!
I'm afraid I don't know my password anymore.
You can reset your password at any time and give yourself a new one. Just follow this link and enter your email address stored in your profile there. You will then receive an e-mail from us with which you can set up a new password. Please check your SPAM folder if the email does not arrive.
I did not receive a confirmation email after registering.
Sometimes our registration emails unfortunately end up in the SPAM folder of your email account. Please check there first to see if you can find them. Otherwise we would ask you to contact us directly. We will then simply help you directly.
