It was an extraordinary and impressive experience that will resonate with me for a long time. I came to learn how to cope with the deep sorrow of losing my late husband. The mushroom retreat helped to soften the sharpness of my grief; it is still there - how could it be otherwise - but it is more bearable, like with a soft focus… In addition, there are the very touching human encounters. It is a shared experience that creates great closeness. Thank you, Julia, for creating this wonderful framework.

The journey was a very special experience that I would not want to miss. The preparation for the ceremony, including theory, clarification of intentions, meditation, and breathing exercises, was very comprehensive and, in a positive sense, intense, and the needs and topics of the participants were lovingly addressed. I felt well taken care of, supported, and accompanied at all times - especially when it became challenging. The beautiful accommodation and great catering also contributed to the comfortable atmosphere that was felt from arrival to departure. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this group.🍄🙏

"The journey to yourself" was for me much more than a retreat – it was a profound, healing process in a protected and yet powerful framework. From the very first minute, the atmosphere was filled with mindfulness, warmth, and genuine presence. Every place, every detail was lovingly designed and contributed to my feeling safe and welcomed. The therapeutic-shamanic guidance was exceptionally professional, empathetic, and clear. The retreat leadership guided us through all phases with great competence, experience, and heart – both in the preparation and during the ceremonies and integration. I felt seen, held, and supported at all times. The truffle experience itself was deeply healing. It brought old themes to the surface, created inner clarity, and showed me a new, powerful vision of my calling. These insights have a lasting impact and feel coherent and transformative. The group was also a gift: open, respectful, and connected. The exchange was honest and nourishing – a space where genuine encounters were possible. For me, this retreat was perfectly organized, profound, and transformative. A clear recommendation for anyone who truly wants to meet themselves and experience healing on a deep level.

The retreat weekend with my life coach Annett was a wonderful and enriching experience. Surrounded by beautiful nature, I was able to find peace, gain new clarity, and reconnect with myself. The Kulkwitzer Lake and its surroundings were simply dreamy - so much openness, fresh air, and silence that are good for the body and soul. The cozy holiday apartment also significantly contributed to my feeling completely comfortable and secure. It was the perfect place to let go, reflect, and find true relaxation. A weekend full of inspiration, inner peace, and valuable impulses - absolutely recommendable.🌞✨

The offer was great - relaxing and very beneficial. The content was perfectly coordinated. The catering at the monastery is very good. What is very unfortunate is that the mattresses are so hard that I slept very poorly and woke up tense and in pain. Very unfortunate.

Frequently asked questions

What is a retreat?
A retreat is a deliberate break from everyday life where you focus entirely on yourself in a peaceful setting. Depending on the focus, yoga, meditation, fasting, silence, or creative practices take center stage. A retreat typically lasts between a weekend and two weeks and takes place in small groups – often in natural settings like mountains, by the sea, or in the countryside. At Retreat Vacation you'll currently find 1287 retreats across Europe.
What types of retreats are there?
The variety of retreats is vast: yoga retreats for physical and mental balance, silent retreats for deep inner reflection, meditation retreats like Vipassana, wellness retreats with spa and relaxation, fasting retreats for detox, Pilates retreats for gentle body training, and creative retreats for writing or painting. At Retreat Vacation you can filter specifically for the type that suits you.
How much does a retreat cost?
Retreat prices vary widely depending on type, duration, and accommodation. A weekend retreat in Germany starts at around €200–300, while week-long retreats typically range from €500 to €2,000. Luxury retreats with single rooms, full board, and spa can go higher. At Retreat Vacation you'll find offers from €78 to €2.890 – there's something for every budget.
Who is a retreat suitable for?
Retreats are suitable for everyone – from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. You don't need yoga experience or special fitness. Many people book their first retreat during a stressful phase, after a life change, or simply out of curiosity. Most organizers offer different levels and cater individually to your experience level.
Where do the best retreats take place?
In Germany, Bavaria (especially the Allgäu), the Black Forest, and the Baltic Sea coast are popular retreat regions. Internationally, Mallorca, Portugal (Algarve), Bali, Sri Lanka, and Austria are among the most sought-after destinations. At Retreat Vacation you can filter by country, region, and even specific locations to find the perfect retreat at your desired destination.
What does a typical day at a retreat look like?
A typical retreat day starts early with morning meditation or a yoga session, followed by a healthy breakfast. The morning brings further practice sessions, while the afternoon often offers free time, workshops, or excursions into nature. In the evening, there's usually a relaxing session and a shared dinner. Between sessions, there's time for rest, reading, or walks.
What is the difference between a retreat and a wellness holiday?
A wellness holiday focuses on passive relaxation – spa, massages, thermal springs. A retreat goes deeper: the focus is on actively engaging with yourself through yoga, meditation, silence, or other practices. A retreat often has a fixed program with set times, a group structure, and an overarching theme. Both formats can complement each other – many wellness retreats combine both.
How do I find the right retreat for me?
First consider what you're looking for: relaxation, physical practice, inner reflection, or adventure? Then choose the type (yoga, meditation, fasting, etc.), duration, and region. At Retreat Vacation you can combine all these criteria and sort results by price, rating, or date. Read the descriptions and reviews from other participants – this way you'll find the retreat that truly suits you.
