You’ve built a life for yourself—one that actually looks pretty good on the surface. A life that works: you pay your bills, keep your appointments, take on responsibilities, maintain relationships, and, on top of that, have amassed a remarkable collection of Tupperware containers.
And yet sometimes you sit there and think: “OK, so what now? Is that it, or is there more to come?” It’s not really dramatic, not a deep crisis, but more like a nagging question that keeps popping up.
A feeling that the life you once envisioned for yourself doesn’t quite make you as happy today, even though you can’t really pinpoint exactly why—and you might tell yourself you just shouldn’t be so ungrateful, because you’re doing just fine.
And while you continue to function well on the outside every new day, deep down you notice that your priorities are shifting over time. Things that used to sustain you suddenly feel restrictive, while other issues you’ve long ignored are knocking more insistently on your inner door. And suddenly, you just don’t feel like doing a lot of things anymore, and sometimes you almost feel like just running away.
Don’t worry—this is all a contradiction, because your life up until now wasn’t wrong, but something inside you has evolved, and the “wardrobe” from the past simply doesn’t fit anymore.
The longing to feel more vitality again, for a life that isn’t just well-organized and predictable but feels more like you. Where you live inwardly rather than outwardly, where you want to please yourself first and foremost rather than others.
Carl Gustav Jung once described the second half of life as a “turning toward one’s own self”—not as a rupture, but as a change in direction.
And this is exactly where this retreat comes in.
It views this phase of life not as a shortcoming or a crisis, but as a natural step in your development. As a transition between what was and what is yet to come.
✦ What you can look forward to
No major upheaval, no “we’re going to optimize you now,” but rather a few days during which you can tune in to yourself again.
During this time, I’ll provide you with a safe, one-on-one space in nature where nothing is expected of you except to be present just as you are right now—with everything that’s happening at once, weighing on you, pulling at you, or simply quietly nagging you in the background. A space where you don’t have to be strong or figure everything out on your own.
Because together, we’ll take a calm, unhurried look—at the path you’ve taken so far, which didn’t just happen by chance, and at the same time, at what’s been making itself known for a long time but gets drowned out by everyday life: needs you’ve long put off, values that have shifted, dreams you’ve long ignored, and all those parts of yourself that have taken a back seat somewhere between “getting by” and “fulfilling responsibilities.”
And instead of pursuing a new goal, something much less spectacular but very beautiful often happens in my 40+ retreats: you regain a clear sense of where you currently stand in your life, what’s truly important to you, what wants to be lived, and where you begin to make decisions more from within yourself again, so that the coming years don’t just unfold by chance.
This is definitely not a retreat that instantly changes everything. But it’s a space where you start to realize once again that YOU are still here, too.
✦ Are you ready?
If you found yourself nodding more than three times while reading this and you want to refocus on yourself, then your journey begins right here.
Feel free to reach out to me, and in the next step, we’ll get to know each other over the phone and see if this retreat is the right next piece of the puzzle for you right now.
Because deep support requires time, presence, and attention, I work with only a small number of women and men each season (June through October), so be sure to secure your preferred date for 2026 well in advance!

✦ How I Work
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind the “green couch.”
I support people through life transitions, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their own boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.
My approach is nervous-system-friendly and neurodivergent-friendly—I bring heart and humor to my work, but also a clear, honest perspective and a willingness to explore with you even the places where things get uncomfortable.
With me, you’ll find a safe space when a lot is going on inside—things you may have been carrying alone for far too long—and something that’s become very rare: plenty of time and undivided attention, because during your retreat, I’m there exclusively for you to guide you one-on-one through your process.
Many experience this time with me as a safe haven from everyday life: finally not having to “function,” not having to “perform,” and not having to prove anything to anyone. Simply being cared for for a few days, taking a deep breath, and being able to reconnect with yourself.
My foundation is built on training in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, and nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has evolved into my own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and—if desired—supplemented with ritual and energy work.
✦ The Location
My lovingly run retreat is located in the Murtal valley in Styria, nestled among mountains, forests, and water, and I open it to guests during the summer. A place to take a deep breath—no TV, no radio noise, and no constant background noise that pulls you back into the world when you’re actually trying to unwind. Instead, nature’s own movie theater with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to nature and to yourself.
But in my retreats, nature is more than just a backdrop—it not only regulates the nervous system but is also an important part of the process.
✦ What Your Days Will Look Like Here
Your retreat follows a clear structure but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute.
We work with whatever arises and is important at the moment.
Day 1 – Arrival
Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m., and you’re welcome to take some time to settle in.
Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during a “Walk & Talk” in nature and explore together the topic that brought you here.
The evening is intentionally quiet: settling in, winding down, a cozy dinner, and stargazing.
Day 2 – Deepening
The second day is the heart of your retreat.
After breakfast, we’ll create space for your topic. Depending on the process, we’ll work through conversation, in nature, through movement, creatively, or via physical awareness.
In between, there will be regular breaks to process your thoughts and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.
Day 3 – Integration
After breakfast, we’ll take some time to reflect together on what we’ve experienced.
What has come to light, what has become clearer, and what aspects of this should accompany you back into your everyday life.
Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
