Every day at lunch and dinner, you can enjoy hearty meals—a vegan, organic, whole-food buffet. If you also enjoy breakfast, you’ll find fruit at the buffet starting at 8 a.m.—perfect as a snack after meditation or for a quick bite between meals. Tea and water are available throughout the day.

We use only fresh, organic ingredients in our dishes. We place great importance on seasonal, sustainable products and support local farmers and partners.

Fresh salads, cucumbers, carrots, beets, and two different dressings are the main components of our buffet. For those who prefer hot food, there are also platters of steamed vegetables—including broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, and fennel—as well as curries, dal, and soups, which are a great alternative to the raw vegetable bar. In addition, there’s always a selection of high-quality oils, grains, and seeds. Bread and gluten-free alternatives, as well as homemade vegan spreads, are available for brunch.

A weekend away from the daily grind, immersing yourself deeply in the world of yoga:

4 yoga classes—you can choose between beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels (Fridays at 4:30 p.m., Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., Sunday at 9:15 a.m.). Including warm-up and deep relaxation, preparatory exercises, yoga poses, and breathing exercises.

4 meditation sessions—guided or silent, as you prefer (one in the evening and one in the morning each day)
6 lectures and workshops—a thorough introduction to holistic yoga, the structure and effects of yoga exercises, the spiritual dimension of yoga, and an introduction to meditation (Friday evening, Saturday morning, noon, and evening, Sunday morning and noon)

Rooms are available starting at 3:00 PM. There is a yoga class at 4:30 PM (Fri./Sun.; other days: 4:15 PM) and dinner at 6:00 PM (both free of charge or included). Weekend seminars end on Sunday at approximately 2:30–3:00 p.m.; longer seminars end on the last day after brunch at approximately 12:00 p.m.

Arrival

The Yoga Vidya retreat center is idyllically situated on the outskirts of the old spa town of Bad Meinberg. The location is quiet yet central, making it easily accessible by train or car. Larger cities in the area include Paderborn (27 km away), Bielefeld (35 km away), and Hanover (100 km away).

If you’re traveling by train, we recommend getting off at the Horn-Bad Meinberg station, which is about 5 km from the Yoga Vidya retreat center. To get to the seminar house, Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg offers a free shuttle service that picks you up from the Horn-Bad Meinberg train station between 8:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.

The place offers everything you need to get the most out of your yoga practice. As a beginner but also as an advanced practitioner. The atmosphere is welcoming everywhere and the people are present and attentive to each other without being intrusive. You can be alone or find company. I have already booked my next stay.
