The yoga classes and open sessions consist of 90 minutes of classical Hatha Yoga according to Sivananda, consisting of sun salutations and 12 basic asanas (with variations), pranayama, and relaxation techniques. Life-changing and enriching! Hatha Yoga is suitable for all levels (individual adaptation), and you can join at any time.
The YOGA meets YOU retreats at the 4*Sterne Lifestyle-Hotel Sonne are suitable for everyone. Whether beginner, intermediate or advanced. The exercises are adapted to the individual difficulty levels of the guests. You will experience a clearly structured, intensive yoga experience based on 5 essential points: 1. Physical exercises (asanas)
Here, the "joints are lubricated" and the spine is stretched in all directions. Each individual asana affects a specific organ in the body. The exercises massage these organs, relieve back pain, and improve posture. Meditative holding of the asanas and classic variations are an integral part of the lessons.
2. Breathing exercises (pranayama) These allow participants to recharge and fill themselves with new life energy (prana). Yoga breathing connects the body to its battery, the solar plexus, where enormous energy reserves are stored. 3. Relaxation (savasana) There are several levels of relaxation. Unfortunately, relaxation is often not taken seriously in our society and many people have to consciously relearn it. Participants experience this consciously in our courses and can relax completely again after a long time. 4. Nutrition (vegetarian) Nutrition plays an essential role in yoga: "You are what you eat!" Yogis therefore prefer a lacto-vegetarian diet. The consumption of alcohol, coffee, sugar, meat, and fish stimulates the mind too much and it is advisable to avoid them. In addition, yogis try not to eat food that is too spicy or too sweet, as this stimulates the mind too much and makes it even more difficult to calm the mind (e.g., in daily concentration or for one's own meditation).
5. Positive thinking (Vedanta) and meditation (Dyana) In the daily meditation sessions, participants learn a wide variety of concentration techniques. Meditation has been scientifically proven to improve health and strengthen the immune and nervous systems. People who meditate regularly are significantly more resilient, relaxed, and focused.
Integral yoga, the 4 paths of yoga 1. Karma yoga - Is the path of action and corresponds to the active temperament. Through selfless action, without thinking of success or reward, the heart is purified and the ego is refined. Karma yoga is the best preparation for the practice of silent meditation.
2. Bhakti Yoga - Is the yoga of devotion and corresponds to the emotional nature. Through prayer, worship, and ritual, consciousness is directed toward the divine as an embodiment of love. Mantra chanting is an essential part of Bhakti Yoga.
3. Raja Yoga - Is the science of physical and mental control. The asanas (yoga postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) of Hatha Yoga are an important part of this yoga path. The main practice of Raja Yoga is silent meditation, in which physical and mental energies are gradually transformed into spiritual energies.
4. Jnana Yoga - Is the yoga of wisdom or knowledge, corresponding to the intellectual temperament. Through the analytical self-contemplation of Vedanta philosophy, one's own nature is explored with the aim of recognizing the highest self in oneself and in others.
All YOGA meets YOU retreats are "interrelated yoga, meditation, and lecture units." At the end of the retreat, participants will have internalized the basics to such an extent that they can integrate yoga into their everyday lives at home.
A yoga session consists of warm-up exercises (sun salutation) and stretching exercises (asanas). This releases physical tension and develops strength, endurance, and flexibility. Breathing exercises (pranayama) recharge the energy reserves. In the final deep relaxation phase, body and mind can relax effectively – an urgent necessity for a healthy and efficient organism. The yoga instructors help with individual corrections and assistance. After the yoga retreat, all participants receive further support in the form of information about yoga, book recommendations, and personal questions.
Participants enjoy an intense, inspiring, genuine, and authentic yoga experience. Every day, we give lectures on interesting topics such as yoga philosophy, healthier living, Yoga@Home, Yoga@Work, etc., allowing participants to discover the deeper meaning of yoga from a completely different perspective.
Mantras sensitize us to sensations and are excellent for focusing thoughts and entering meditative states. These energizing and healing energies permeate the entire body, right down to the soul, where you can simply experience them. Om is the most famous mantra in yoga, but there are other magical verses in Sanskrit that make the heart vibrate.
After just two days, you can see how the participants begin to recover, their faces and eyes begin to glow noticeably, and their bodies change for the better. The positive effects of such a yoga retreat usually last for months. Many participants then turn their everyday lives around and begin a much more "conscious and healthy" lifestyle.
