Authentic hatha yoga, meditation, yoga asanas and pranayama with relaxation according to Sivananda Yoga
In the yoga courses and open classes, classic Hatha Yoga according to Sivananda is taught in 90 minutes, consisting of sun salutations and 12 basic asanas (with variations), pranayama and relaxation techniques. Life-changing and enriching!
Hatha Yoga is suitable for all levels (individual adaptation), entry is possible at any time.
The YOGA meets YOU retreats at the 4* star Lifestyle Hotel Sonne are suitable for everyone. Whether beginner, intermediate or advanced. The exercises are adapted to the guests' individual levels of difficulty.
You will experience a clearly structured, intensive yoga experience based on 5 essential points:
1. physical exercises (asanas)
Here, the joints are "lubricated" and the spine is stretched in all directions. Each individual asana works on a specific organ of the body; the exercises massage these organs, relieve back pain and improve posture. Meditative holding of the asanas and classical variations are an integral part of the class.
2. breathing exercises (pranayama)
These allow participants to recharge and recharge themselves with lots of new life energy (prana). Yoga breathing connects the body to its battery, the solar plexus, where enormous reserves of energy are stored.
3. relaxation (Savasana)
There are several levels of relaxation. Unfortunately, relaxation is often not taken seriously in our society and has to be consciously relearned by many. In our courses, participants consciously experience this again and can relax completely after a long time.
4. nutrition (vegetarian)
Nutrition plays an essential role in yoga "You are what you eat!" Yogis therefore prefer a lacto-vegetarian diet. The consumption of alcohol, coffee, sugar, meat and fish stimulates the mind too much and should be avoided. The yogi also tries not to eat too much spicy or sweet food, as this stimulates the mind too much and makes it even more difficult to calm the mind (e.g. in daily concentration or for one's own meditation)
5. positive thinking (Vedanta) and meditation (Dyana)
In the daily guided meditation sessions, participants learn a wide range of concentration techniques. Meditation has been scientifically proven to help improve health and strengthen the immune and nervous systems. People who meditate regularly are much more resilient, relaxed and focused.
Integral yoga, the 4 yoga paths
1. karma yoga - is the path of action and corresponds to the active temperament. Through selfless action, without thinking of success or reward, the heart is purified and the ego is purified. Karma Yoga is the best preparation for the practice of silent meditation.
2. Bhakti Yoga - Is the yoga of devotion and corresponds to the emotional nature. Through prayer, worship and ritual, consciousness is directed towards the divine as an embodiment of love. Mantra chanting is an essential part of Bhakti Yoga.
3. raja yoga - is the science of physical and mental control. The asanas (yoga postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) of Hatha Yoga are an important part of this yoga path. The main practice of Raja Yoga is silent meditation, in which physical and mental energies are gradually transformed into spiritual energies.
4. Jnana Yoga - Is the yoga of wisdom or knowledge corresponding to the intellectual temperament. Through the analytical self-observation of the Vedanta philosophy, one's own nature is explored with the aim of recognizing the highest self in oneself and in others.
All YOGA meets YOU retreats are "consecutive yoga, meditation and lecture units". At the end of the retreat, participants will have internalized the "basics" in such a way that they can integrate yoga into their everyday life at home.
A yoga session consists of warm-up exercises (sun prayer) and stretching exercises (asanas). This releases physical tension and develops strength, stamina and flexibility. Breathing exercises (pranayama) recharge the energy stores. In the concluding deep relaxation, body and mind can relax effectively - an urgent necessity for a healthy and efficient organism.
The yoga instructors help with individual corrections and support. After the yoga retreat, all participants will receive further support with information about yoga, book recommendations & personal questions.
Participants experience an intensive, inspiring, genuine and authentic yoga experience. In daily lectures, we impart interesting knowledge about yoga philosophy, a healthier life, Yoga@Home, Yoga@Work, etc. and thus get to know the deep meaning of yoga from a completely different perspective.
Mantras make you sensitive to sensations and are ideal for focusing thoughts and entering a meditative state. These power-giving and healing energies permeate the entire body, right into the soul, where you can simply experience them. Om is the most famous mantra in yoga, but there are other magical verses in Sanskrit that make the heart vibrate.
After just two days, you can see how participants begin to relax, their faces and eyes start to glow and their bodies change for the better. The positive effect of such a yoga retreat usually lasts for months. Many participants turn their everyday lives upside down afterwards and begin to live a much more "conscious and healthy" life.
