The Yin Yoga training/retreat is suitable for yoga teachers, yoga practitioners and body therapists, simply for anyone who longs for a balancing, meditative, healing and deeply opening yoga practice and wants to feel more in touch with their body, heart and inner voice again. Yin Yoga is inspired by Chinese medicine and Taoism and offers a complementary practice to active, dynamic yoga styles or other active sports that mainly train the muscles and cardiovascular system, while in Yin Yoga we stimulate the deeper layers of tissue in the body, such as the fascia, ligaments, tendons and joints.
The training is a combination of theory and practice. Topics that we address are: Yin Yoga practice, anatomy, philosophy, teaching methodology, movement analysis and group work.
We focus intensively on Yin Yoga asanas in theory and practice, integrating various breathing techniques and meditation.
In the first few days of the course, you will slowly develop a better understanding of the individuality and limitations of your body.
You will learn how to use aids in a targeted way and how to give each student individual support and different variations of a pose.
You will realize why two people will never experience the same yoga pose in the same way and why the same pose can and may look different for each person due to their individual bone structure.
In the second part of the training, we delve deeper into the energetic effects of Yin Yoga (meridians, elements and chi flow). We will deepen our acquired anatomical understanding of the first days in theory and practice. You will gain a basic understanding of the 12 main meridians and the corresponding elements. We deal intensively with physical, mental and emotional complaints that can arise from blockages in the meridians. We delve deeper into the mysterious world of fascia and focus on stress, chronic back pain and Yin Yoga as a pain treatment and stress reduction. After this week, you will have the knowledge and practical know-how to practice Yin Yoga mindfully and adapted to your body, as well as to teach a Yin Yoga class.
In order to really understand and experience what Yin Yoga is all about, we take a lot of time for mindful practice, give you space to feel, listen and feel into yourself and experience the power of letting go and just being.
Yin yoga allows you to come into deeper contact with yin qualities such as stillness, receptivity, surrender, relaxation and acceptance. The practice supports you in finding calm, serenity, peace and balance in your daily life, recharging your batteries and stimulating your self-healing powers.
The secret of Yin Yoga lies more in BEING and letting go than in DOING.
