The light of your heart - 1-day retreat for 1 or 2 people
Bad Mitterndorf, Austria
$426 / 2 Days
"A Deep and Meaningful Retreat" is a unique 8-day seminar (7 nights) in which participants live, learn, and cook together with the facilitator, just like in a shared apartment... The price includes lodging, full board (primarily vegetarian and featuring organic food and beverages), seminar facilitation, materials, and a guest pass.
The maximum number of participants is 6, ensuring that each participant has enough time for a daily, individual conversation with the facilitator.
Your cell phone and/or laptop should remain out of sight and silent during the seminar, but may be used during "free time."
What it’s about:
Escape from everyday life—into a world that can mark the beginning of a new, more relaxed life through a reorientation of your own habits, views, and thought patterns.
The exercises offered (mindfulness, relaxation, acceptance...) are practiced both in the group and in private, and can be easily integrated into daily life after the course.
The forest, garden, and house serve as our practice spaces. The daily tasks that each participant takes on provide a practical setting for applying the theory and can be understood as hands-on learning experiences. These alternate with times when you are simply allowed to BE—without doing anything.
We explore forms of Japanese philosophy and psychology (Morita Therapy, Naikan, and Zen), some of which trace back to millennia-old Asian and Western wisdom (Confucius, Socrates).
By the end of the week, you will have a roadmap for how to shape a contented, self-determined, and constructive life. You will be less dependent on your fears, thoughts, and feelings, and thus able to face certain challenges with greater composure.
We expressly note that our seminar is not a substitute for therapy, but can certainly complement it.

BookIn general, we cook vegetarian meals using mostly fresh, organic ingredients. Fresh herbs from the garden enhance the dishes and also serve as a garnish (depending on the season). If you have any special requests or cannot tolerate certain foods, we’re happy to accommodate you. So you’re in good hands with us even if you have gluten and/or lactose intolerances or other allergies.
In this seminar, we cook together, always in pairs for each meal.
The general daily schedule is as follows:
- Morning group meditation and physical exercises, followed by breakfast (for those who wish)
- Approximately 2 hours of instruction in the morning, followed by work meditation and lunch
- In the afternoon: individual practice assignments, silent walks, one-on-one conversations, and time for simply being (“free time”)
Dinner together
- Followed by 3–4 evening activities, some of which are organized by the participants or by us
- Time for self-reflection, an evening walk...
- Then quiet time (time of silence)
