Yoga summer retreat by the sea

From the outside, your life probably doesn’t look all that bad. You have an education, a job, relationships, responsibilities—a lot of it works out, some of it maybe even perfectly—but what nobody sees is how exhausting it all is and how worn out you are when you collapse into bed at night.
Because you’ve learned to pull yourself together and fit in so it doesn’t show on the outside. You make lists, double-check everything, and, if necessary, stay up half the night to get things done.
You’ve probably spent years criticizing yourself for being so chaotic, too sensitive, too emotional—somehow always too much and yet never enough—and simply always different from everyone else.
And to be like everyone else, you’ve adapted even more—faster than a chameleon can change its color. You probably even smiled while doing it, even though deep down, it had all been too much for you for a long time. Always be strong, never show any weakness—but in the long run, no one is spared: eventually, the house of cards collapses from exhaustion—and that’s the end of it.
Everything that had worked so well up until then to compensate for and mask your “otherness” suddenly stops working, and even though you’re constantly reflecting on yourself, you still don’t know what’s actually wrong with you.
At some point, though, the suspicion arises that it might be ADHD, and suddenly your own life story makes a frightening amount of sense.
For many who are diagnosed later in life, this is initially a huge relief, because finally there’s an explanation for so many things that for years they’ve felt were personal failures.
And then you’re left standing there again with a head full of new insights—perhaps mixed with sadness and anger—and once more you don’t know what to do with them. How should you move forward now? Will things finally get better? And who am I, really, without all my masks and strategies?
That’s exactly what this retreat is all about.
✦ What you can look forward to
Most people who come to me after a late diagnosis have spent the majority of their lives trying to fit in and relentlessly tinkering with themselves—usually at a pretty high cost.
That’s why this retreat is definitely not another attempt to “optimize” you, and it’s certainly not a crash course on how to manage your ADHD. Instead, it’s a place where you’ll be understood—and where we’ll do something completely different. We’re simply turning the tables and asking: how can you adapt your life to YOU? Instead of continuing to conform to a game that was never yours, we’ll explore YOUR rules for your life together.
During your time with me—your ADHD sister—you’ll find a peaceful place in nature where masks aren’t necessary and where you don’t have to worry about being too much or too little.
You’ve probably been strong for long enough and dealt with everything on your own—in this retreat, we’ll explore together the issues you bring with you.
We’ll work together in a way that feels right for you—whether that’s in a lounge chair, walking in nature, or getting creative in the woods—always at your own pace and with plenty of time for silence and retreat.
Most people don’t go home from this retreat with a perfect plan—and we know that wouldn’t work anyway—but with something much more valuable: a deeper connection to themselves and the realization that it’s finally time to take themselves seriously and stop trying to make themselves smaller. With new rules of the game and the growing permission to finally be exactly who you are.

✦ How I Work
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind the “green couch.”
I support people through life transitions, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their own boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.
My approach is nervous-system-friendly and neurodivergent-friendly—I bring heart and humor to my work, but also a clear, honest perspective and a willingness to explore with you even the places where things get uncomfortable.
With me, you’ll find a safe space when a lot is going on inside—things you may have been carrying alone for far too long—and something that’s become very rare: plenty of time and undivided attention, because during your retreat, I’m there exclusively for you to guide you one-on-one through your process.
Many experience this time with me as a safe haven from everyday life: finally not having to “function,” not having to “perform,” and not having to prove anything to anyone. Simply being cared for for a few days, taking a deep breath, and being able to reconnect with yourself.
That’s why I deliberately work with only a few women and men per season (June–October), as this kind of support requires time, presence, and attention.
My foundation is built on training in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, and nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has evolved into my own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and—if desired—supplemented with ritual and energy work.
✦ The Location
My lovingly run retreat is located in the Murtal valley in Styria, nestled among mountains, forests, and water, which I open to guests in the summer. A place to take a deep breath—no TV, no radio noise, and no constant background noise that pulls you back into the world when you’re actually trying to unwind. Instead, nature’s own movie theater with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to nature and to yourself.
But in my retreats, nature is more than just a backdrop—it not only regulates the nervous system but is also an important part of the process.
✦ What Your Days Will Look Like Here
Your retreat follows a clear structure but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute.
We work with whatever arises and is important at the moment.
Day 1 – Arrival
Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m., and you’re welcome to take some time to settle in.
Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during a “Walk & Talk” in nature and explore together the topic that brought you to me.
The evening is intentionally quiet: settling in, unwinding, a cozy dinner, and stargazing.
Day 2 – Deepening
The second day is the heart of your retreat.
After breakfast, we’ll create space for your topic. Depending on the process, we’ll work through conversation, in nature, through movement, creatively, or via physical awareness.
In between, there will be regular breaks to process your thoughts and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.
Day 3 – Integration
After breakfast, we’ll take some time together to reflect on what we’ve experienced.
What has come to light, what has become clearer, and what aspects of this should accompany you back into your everyday life?
Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
Sustainable travel by train is possible; the train station is within walking distance.
By car from Vienna Vösendorf and Linz: approx. 2 hours
From Graz and Klagenfurt: approx. 1 hour
