ADHD UNMASKED—The 1:1 Nature Retreat for Those Diagnosed Late—Realigning Your Life Instead of Adapting

Summary

From the outside, your life probably doesn’t look all that bad. Education, a job, relationships—a lot of it works out, and some of it might even be perfect. But what nobody sees is just how incredibly exhausting it all is for you and how drained you are when you collapse into bed at night.

Because you’ve learned to pull yourself together and fit in so that no one notices. You make lists, double-check everything, smile through it all, and pull all-nighters when you have to. For years, you’ve criticized yourself for supposedly being “too chaotic, too sensitive, too emotional”—somehow always too much and yet never enough. And somehow always different from everyone else.

And then, at some point, comes the suspicion or the diagnosis: late-diagnosed ADHD.
At first, there’s immense relief. A life story that finally makes sense and an explanation that no longer feels like personal failure.

But shortly after, you’re left standing there with a head full of new questions, sadness, and anger: What happens next? And who am I, really, without all my masks and strategies?

That’s exactly what this retreat is about. Take off the masks. Take a deep breath.

✦ What you can look forward to
This retreat is definitely not just another attempt to “optimize” you. Nor is it a crash course on how to “get your ADHD under control.”

Instead, we’re simply turning the tables: We’re not looking at how you adapt to life—but how you can adapt your life to YOU. Instead of playing by the rules of a world that was never yours, we’ll explore YOUR very own rules together. At the same time, we’ll take a pragmatic look at how you can take good care of yourself in neurotypical everyday life without having to pretend to be someone else or become a hermit.

*I’m your ADHD sister by your side: With me, you’ll find a place where masks aren’t necessary and where you’re understood. You don’t have to worry about whether you’re being too much or too little right now, and you don’t have to figure things out all on your own anymore.

*Working without pressure: We’ll work exactly the way your nervous system needs right now—in a low-stimulus, peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Whether in a lounge chair, walking through the woods, or engaging in creative activities. Always at your own pace, with as much space as possible for genuine retreat and silence.

*The result: You won’t go home with a rigid, perfect plan (we both know that wouldn’t work anyway). But you’ll leave with a noticeably deeper connection to yourself, the profound realization that you never want to make yourself feel small again, and the permission to finally be exactly who you are.

✦ Your Next Step
If you found yourself nodding while reading because this sounds like you, then the problem has been identified and the first step has already been taken. Take this feeling seriously, even if it’s often not easy to give yourself permission to pause your daily routine for a moment and do something for yourself.

You don’t have to decide anything just yet.
That’s exactly what the no-obligation introductory conversation is for. Let’s talk on the phone and see what’s on your mind, whether this retreat is a missing piece of the puzzle for you, and get a feel for whether we click.
The conversation is completely confidential, free of charge, and lasts about 15 minutes.
Afterward, you’ll have a clear sense of which next step feels right for you.

Note: Of course, you don’t need an ADHD diagnosis to participate in this retreat. I don’t make diagnoses, and I don’t provide therapy. This retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic treatment; rather, it’s a psychoeducational and guided space for self-discovery.

Good to know: Preferred dates for 2026
Since my retreats are deeply connected to nature, the doors to my cabin are open exclusively during the warmer months from May through October.
Because my personal one-on-one guidance requires my full presence and undivided attention, I accept only a limited number of guests per month.
If you feel that this year is your time to finally take a deep breath and realign yourself, please feel free to reach out, and we’ll see which days work for both of us.

✦ How I Work
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind “The Green Couch.” I guide people through life transitions in nature, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.

* With heart, humor, and clarity: I take a nervous-system- and neurodivergence-friendly approach, but I also bring an honest attitude and a willingness to explore with you the areas where things get uncomfortable.

* Undivided attention: With me, you’ll get something that’s become rare: plenty of time. During your retreat, I’m there exclusively and one-on-one just for you and your process.

* No “functioning,” no “performing”: Many experience their time with me as a safe haven from everyday life. Simply be cared for for a few days, take a deep breath, and explore together with someone the burden you’ve been carrying alone for far too long.

* Nature-based work: Nature is far more than just a beautiful backdrop—it regulates your overloaded nervous system and is an active part of our shared process.
Upon request, nature rituals and subtle energy work are incorporated into your support. This helps resolve issues where the mind alone often gets stuck—in a deeply grounded and down-to-earth way.

The foundation of my work
Training in life and social counseling, couples and sex counseling, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, as well as nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has evolved into my very own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and deeply grounding.

✦ The Retreat Location
My lovingly maintained place of power is located in the Murtal valley in Styria. It’s surrounded by lush green nature and nestled between mountains, forests, and water. It’s a place to take a deep breath, completely free of TV, radio noise, or the constant digital buzz that keeps you constantly disconnected from yourself.
Instead, you’ll find: nature’s cinema with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to yourself.

✦ What Your Days Will Look Like Here
Your retreat follows a clear structure, but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute.
We’ll work with whatever arises and feels important at the moment.

• Day 1: Arrival & Sowing the Seed
Starting at 2:00 p.m., you can settle in at your own pace. Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during our first “Walk & Talk” in nature, take a first look at the topic that brought you here, and set the intention for the coming days. The evening is all about winding down: a cozy dinner, taking a deep breath, and gazing at the stars.

• Day 2: Deepening & Process Work
The heart of your retreat. After breakfast, we’ll focus entirely on your topic. Depending on what your system needs at the moment, we’ll work through conversation, walking in nature, creative activities, or body awareness. In between, there will be regular breaks to process, reflect, and rest.
The day ends once again with a good dinner.

• Day 3: Harvest & Integration
Sleep in again and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Afterward, we’ll take time to reflect on the experience and reap the rewards: What has come to light? What has become clearer, and how will you bring this new strength and clarity back into your everyday life? Your retreat ends around 12:00 p.m., and you can depart feeling nourished and at peace.

Follow-up Call: To ensure the magic of the cabin doesn’t fade away in your daily life, we’ll meet online two weeks later for a follow-up conversation to help you firmly anchor these new steps in your life.
