The yoga teacher training is divided into eight subject blocks:
- Introduction - philosophy and aim of yoga
- Hatha Yoga in general
- Tantra and Kundalini Yoga - Yoga of energy
- Raja Yoga - mental training and meditation
- Karma Yoga - Yoga of action
- Bhakti Yoga - Making contact with the divine
- Jnana Yoga - The yoga of knowledge
- Yoga teaching methodology
The training is intensive and requires discipline. Full participation in all courses, lectures and workshops is mandatory. Meat, fish, eggs, tobacco, alcohol and drugs are not permitted during the training. We recommend that you read "The Big Illustrated Yoga Book" before starting the training.
Examination
A prerequisite for admission to the examination is attendance of the Yoga Vidya teacher training course. The examination consists of several introductory lessons, a written examination and, if necessary, an oral examination.
Certificate, recognition
There is an examination at the end of the course. You will then receive the "Yoga Teacher (BYV)" certificate (Level 2) from the Professional Association of Yoga Vidya Teachers (BYV). The certificate is generally recognized.
The Yoga Vidya teacher trainings are registered with the Yoga Alliance. The Yoga Alliance stands for a certain quality standard. Yoga teachers and schools registered with the Alliance enjoy a high international reputation. This is particularly interesting if you want to work internationally.
The Yoga Vidya Yoga Teacher Training is also registered with the EMR (ErfahrungsMedizinischesRegister) in Switzerland. If you would like to have your training recognized by the EMR, our Training Council will be happy to provide you with further information and documents.
