Ceramic surface design with Nana König for beginners and advanced students

Meezen, Germany
View all pictures

Summary

The workshop focuses on the experimental design of ceramic surfaces. Guided by ceramic artist Nana König, we will learn a variety of techniques. We'll be shaping clay slabs with different tools, creating delicate arches from engobe/porcelain using the layering technique, practicing scraffito and learning about the "painting horn". In this way, everyone can develop their very own surface structure. Colored engobes bring color into play and can achieve additional effects. During the course, we will create a variety of interesting design approaches on clay slabs, which we will transfer to a cylindrical vessel on the second day. We use the designed slabs to make small wall pictures, tiles or coasters, for example.

Material and firing costs of €40 per person are payable.
