Discover structures - develop shapes - experience clay

This 4-day workshop is aimed at people who want to sharpen their perception and creatively transform natural structures into ceramics. The focus is on conscious observation, collecting impressions and their free artistic interpretation.
Together we will explore selected places on Lanzarote and deal with surfaces, textures, lines and forms of the environment. These impressions are captured in photos, sketches, impressions or drawing studies and then translated into sculptural works made of clay in the studio.
Whether a tile, bowl, small sculpture or abstract object - there are no limits to your design. The artist will accompany you personally and respond individually to your ideas, previous knowledge and wishes. The deliberately small group size of a maximum of four participants creates a calm, inspiring working atmosphere with plenty of room for personal attention and creative expression.

No previous knowledge is required. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

Accommodation

In Tias and the surrounding area there are many possibilities to book accommodation according to individual preferences. I would be happy to give you tips and information. To experience the island in the best possible way, I would recommend a rental car. This should be booked as far in advance as possible, as there are sometimes bottlenecks here. It is generally very cheap to book a rental car on the Canary Islands.
If you live in Tias itself, you can of course also reach my workshop on foot. Bus connections are available and inexpensive. However, some destinations are limited in terms of time and involve frequent changes.

Catering

The course offer includes snacks & drinks:
At lunchtime, course participants will have a tapas meal on the terrace.
A picnic is offered during the excursion.
The snacks/meals are preferably prepared with regional fruit, vegetables and fish from the island.
Overall, vegetarian dishes predominate.

The workshop lasts 4 days and combines:
* Joint work phases in the workshop

Day 1:
10-11:00 a.m. Welcome and preliminary discussion of the course
11:00-17:00 Day excursion to selected places on the island including a picnic lunch.
Transportation not included for legal reasons,
but can be arranged on site.

2nd day:
11:00-13 h Discussion and presentation of the collected impressions from our day excursion.
Then planning and start of implementation in ceramic work.
13:00-14:00 Joint lunch break: Tapas and drinks (water, coffee) will be offered.
14:00-16:00 Workshop: You will work on your ceramics and receive guidance and assistance from the course instructor according to your needs.

3rd day:
11.00-13.00 Free work in the workshop

The finished works now need time to dry and must be fired.
You should have about one week of your vacation after the end of the workshop.
The finished work can then be picked up.

Cancellation policy

Full refund up to 30 days before arrival.
After this, the booking is non-refundable.

The workshop can be canceled 30 days before the agreed start date without giving reasons.
The deposit paid in advance will then be refunded in full. The deposit will be retained if the workshop is canceled later or in the event of a no-show.
