Summary

In this workshop, we want to translate our own artistic ideas into three-dimensional forms - from the first sketch to the finished sculpture.
To begin with, we will approach our sculpture in a playful way using drawings or small clay models. As soon as the idea takes shape, we use reinforcing steel to build a supporting skeleton. We then use plaster, an exciting and versatile material, to form our individual sculpture. Plaster can be cast in a soft state and modeled freely. After hardening, it opens up further possibilities: cutting, milling, grinding or carving. Each process reveals new structures and surfaces.
We will be accompanied by the artist Michael Jastram, who will use his many years of experience to provide inspiration, clarify technical questions and support the artistic development of each individual.
At the end of the workshop you will have a unique finished sculpture. If you are interested, you can have it molded and cast in a bronze foundry.

For on-site accommodation, we offer various bedrooms with double beds. There are also large bathrooms with bath and shower for three or two rooms. One room with bathroom is barrier-free. You are also welcome to book a room for two.
An extension of your stay is possible by arrangement.

Catering

We offer full vegetarian catering for the workshops. This consists of a breakfast buffet (only for overnight stays), hot lunch, cake and fruit as a snack, rounded off by a hot dinner with dessert. We also serve bread, salad, a cheese platter and a selection of wines. All drinks are included.
We are happy to cater for intolerances and special diets.
We mainly use seasonal and certified organic products.

On Friday we will start at 14:00 with the drawings and models for our sculptures. In the evening, Michael will present his art to us in a picture show and tell us about his ideas and execution techniques using drawings and sculptures. Afterwards, we will only be interrupted by good conversation and delicious food until Sunday afternoon at around 15:00. An overnight stay is possible.
All the necessary tools are available, the material will be brought by the artist.
No previous experience is required, we are happy to start together.

Arrival

You can reach the WERKGUT as follows:
Arrival by car: Via A7 exit Neumünster Mitte then on B430 to Aukrug and via Hennstedt to Meezen/ A23 exit Scheenefeldt via b430 to Hohenwestedt and via Grauel to Meezen.
Parking spaces are available, as well as charging facilities for electric cars.
Parking for other vehicles is possible.
Arrival by public transport: If you arrive by train, you can be picked up from Wrist or Hohenwestedt station.
Bus connection Hohenwstedt-Meezen-Wrist with bus route 6191.

Cancellation policy

Full refund up to 60 days before arrival.
If you cancel up to 20 days before arrival, you will receive a 50% refund of the booking price.
After this, the booking is non-refundable.

It is a pity if a workshop place remains free although others would have liked to book. We therefore ask you to inform us in good time - preferably in writing - if you are unable to attend the workshop you have booked.

The following costs will be incurred in the event of a cancellation:

Up to 60 days before the workshop date there is no cancellation fee.
Up to 20 days before the start of the workshop, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Thereafter, the full amount will be charged in the event of cancellation.
