During this 4 or 5-day course, you will build a hand puppet and use it to learn the basics of puppetry. Then it starts :
Puppetry, from the first breath to the scene: fascination and poetry !

And to enrich your course experience even more, let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent Breton surroundings.
Explore the nearby Pink Granite Coast, the beach of Coz-Pors in Trégastel, considered one of the most spectacular coastal resorts in France. Catering: There is a kitchen available for self-catering. In the surrounding towns you will find numerous pubs and restaurants, crêperies, restaurants,... (a visit to a weekly market is also a special event)

Where does the creative journey of discovery lead? Designing a character head out of papier-mâché, which is then painted, styled, dressed and finally brought to life! You will learn how exciting it is when your rod hand puppet suddenly comes to life, starts talking, slips into different roles, cheekily and bravely explores play possibilities and tells its own stories.
We will work on a small scenario in groups and perform at the end!

A workshop for puppet theater enthusiasts and those who want to become puppet theater enthusiasts, regardless of the field, professional or private.

Prerequisites: Curiosity, joy of playing, desire to try things out, no previous puppetry experience necessary.

The 1st course takes place from Monday to Wednesday in the morning, Thursday all day,
the 2nd course Monday-Friday takes place in the morning, times will be decided together.

And a few words about the course leader: Berit Schwarm, born in Stuttgart, has lived in Brittany for 25 years, where she founded her own puppet theater company Théâtre B.A., after several years of training at the puppet theater college in Bochum, a degree in education and theater stage experience at various children's and puppet theaters.

Arrival

The TGV train station of Guingamp can be reached in 25 minutes by car.
The airports of Brest and Rennes are 1.5 hours away by car.
If you arrive by train, it is possible to pick you up at the Guingamp TGV station

If you cancel up to 90 days before arrival, you will receive a 50% refund of the booking price.
After this, the booking is non-refundable.

For the puppetry course from June 30-July 3, the registration deadline for a booking is June 3, 2025
The puppetry course takes place in the morning (except Thursday, July 3, the whole day is planned). I am at your disposal for any further information.
