In this fasting and hiking course with yoga, you will not only relax physically, but also mentally and spiritually. Yoga and various forms of fasting or a vegan-based diet are ideal combinations for finding specific solutions to the demands of everyday life, detoxifying the body, and regenerating. Hiking and other physical activities round off the program. Make sure you feel better! Fasting or just eating an alkaline diet and still getting plenty of exercise—is that possible? Isn't that a bit crazy? Not at all—quite the contrary! What's crazy is sitting in the office and/or in front of the TV all week, not moving, and still eating! At least, that's how our ancestors would have seen it. In the long term, our bodies are much better suited to exercise and little food than the other way around.

Yoga focuses on the whole person and consists of physical and breathing exercises as well as meditation. We practice basic yoga for relaxation and strengthening, which is suitable for all levels and tailored to fasting and regeneration. We introduce meditation techniques with Heart Chakra Meditation, a combination of movement to meditative music followed by a period of rest.

Massage and sauna Our massage team provides soothing massages in the monastery with individual treatments tailored to your wishes and needs. Directly below the monastery hill is a swimming pool with a sauna area, the Wiedtalbad. The new sauna area is soothing and supports relaxation during the retreat. Fasting is a conscious time of regeneration – for body, mind, and soul. From now on, you can add a special wellness component to your course experience at the Waldbreitbach monastery: the new wellness area is now open! Look forward to a classic Finnish sauna, a gentle infrared sauna, and a stylish relaxation room where you can let go and unwind. As a course participant, you are free to use this area at no extra charge. Waldbreitbach Monastery On the edge of the Westerwald forest, barely an hour's drive from the bustling centers of Rhine-Main (Frankfurt) and Rhine-Ruhr (Cologne), the Rosa Flesch Conference Center offers an extraordinary setting for fasting seminars. High above the Wiedtal valley, against a monastic backdrop, this house exudes Franciscan spirit. Here, you can recharge your batteries and gather the energy you need to meet the demands of everyday life. The town of Waldbreitbach offers a variety of leisure activities and, with its idyllic location in the Wiedtal valley, is known as a destination for day trips and, thanks to its nativity scene exhibition and Advent lighting, as a Christmas destination.

Catering

The detox method developed by Dr. Buchinger is a modified form of fasting that involves abstaining from solid food. The body switches completely to fasting metabolism and feeds almost exclusively on stored reserves (fat and protein). Juices and broths (¼ liter each) as well as water and tea are available to drink. All the body's cells enter a protective mechanism, deposits are broken down, and degenerative cells regress. Detox 16:8 Interval Vegan Base refers to a dietary detox diet that almost completely avoids protein. Only foods that are predominantly metabolized as alkaline are consumed. In this vegan alkaline detox regimen, the body does not completely switch to fasting metabolism. Instead, the organism undergoes a deacidification treatment, which has a positive effect on well-being and health.

We follow the 16:8 detox interval concept, which involves a break from eating for at least 16 hours. This triggers autophagy, the body's own waste disposal process. Autophagy (eating oneself) is currently the most scientifically proven detox method. The detoxification process takes place directly in the cells. We start in the morning with tea, and from 11 a.m. onwards we have homemade alkaline porridge and fruit and/or vegetables and salads. In the evening, we have soup, vegetables, potatoes, dips, and/or alkaline bread at 6 p.m. Imitation fasting (simulated fasting method): Simulated fasting means that for 5 days, the body receives a scientifically precisely balanced diet that provides the highest possible amount of micro- and macronutrients without the body recognizing that it is receiving food, as the corresponding signaling pathways in the metabolism remain deactivated. Therefore, despite daily solid meals, the body remains in fasting metabolism (simulated or pseudo-fasting). The daily calorie intake is between 800 and 1150 kcal. We have further developed this method and integrated intermittent fasting and spermidine-rich foods into our meal plan. This further stimulates autophagy (cell cleansing). Do you have any questions? Arrival

Waldbreitbach does not have a train station. The best connections are: – via Neuwied, then take the bus to the "Hausen Brücke" stop. From there, walk up the hill to the monastery.
