Get out there! Vision quest in Bavaria

Accommodation during the preparation and follow-up period will be in your own tent. During the solo period, you will find your own spot in the area, make yourself comfortable in your sleeping bag with a sleeping mat, and, if necessary, protect yourself from rain and wind with a tarp. Costs for the remaining 8 days of accommodation and meals, depending on the size of the group, approx. $350 per person.

During the preparation and follow-up period, we will eat together as a group. We will do the shopping in advance and provide suitable recipes. We will buy mostly vegetarian, organic, regional, and seasonal food. The wishes of the group can be taken into account.

Fasting is usually practiced during the retreat. Fasting is a central element in rites of passage and gives the vision quest an intense physical dimension. During the solo time, participants consciously refrain from social interactions, a protected space, food, and often sleep. This renunciation opens up a changed perception and promotes an expansion of consciousness, clears the mind, and sharpens the senses—the boundaries between us and the world become more permeable. Reactions to fasting are individual: some experience a feeling of lightness and energy, while others suffer from symptoms such as nausea or fatigue. Intense emotions and vivid dreams may also occur. Accepting weakness or exhaustion can be healing. For participants who are taking medication, the fasting rules can of course be adjusted in consultation with the leadership team. Our offer invites you to find answers to your deepest questions about life in nature. You can use the wisdom of nature to experience clarity and spiritual alignment in this special phase of your life. 4 days of preparation and follow-up: As a group, we prepare for and follow up on the solo time together. We will work out principles of behavior, safety rules, and your personal concerns for the vision quest. Helpful tips, process models, and coping strategies will be shared. We will eat, sing, cry, and laugh. After your return, we will hear your story, share experiences and insights, and celebrate life together.

The journey to the retreat is one of the first challenges of the vision quest. If you wish, you can network with the other participants and, if necessary, form a travel/carpool group. The retreat is easily accessible by car or public transportation via the Windischeschenbach train station.
