Our workshops are suitable for all levels—whether you’re new to yoga or already have experience. Catering

Every day at lunch and dinner, you can enjoy hearty meals—a vegan whole-food buffet. If you also enjoy breakfast, fruit is available at the buffet starting at 8 a.m., as a snack after meditation, or for a quick bite between meals. Tea and water are available throughout the day.

We use only fresh, organic ingredients in our dishes. We place great importance on seasonal, sustainable products and support local farmers and partners. Fresh salads, cucumbers, carrots, beets, and two different dressings are the main components of our buffet. For those who prefer warm food, steamed vegetable platters featuring broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, and fennel, as well as curries, dal, and soups, offer a great alternative to the raw vegetable bar. In addition, there is always a selection of high-quality oils, grains, and seeds. Bread or gluten-free alternatives, along with homemade vegan spreads, are available at brunch.

Information for People with Allergies All our dishes are homemade and 100% organic. If you have questions regarding allergens, there is a list with information for people with allergies at the buffet. The dishes are then labeled according to the list.

* Some seminars with special topics also have a workshop in the afternoon from 2:00 PM/2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and there is no yoga class in the afternoon, or the exercises are integrated into the workshop. The SEMINAR BEGINS promptly at 8:00 PM with meditation. Please arrive on time.
Rooms are available from 3:00 PM. There is a yoga class at 4:30 PM (Fri./Sun., other days: 4:15 PM) and dinner at 6:00 PM. Weekend seminars end on Sunday at approximately 2:30 PM.

Arrival

The Yoga Vidya retreat center is idyllically situated on the outskirts of the historic spa town of Bad Meinberg. The location is both quiet and central, making it easily accessible by train or car. Larger cities in the vicinity include Paderborn (27 km away), Bielefeld (35 km away), and Hanover (100 km away).

If traveling by train, we recommend getting off at the Horn-Bad Meinberg station, which is approximately 5 km from the Yoga Vidya retreat center. Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg offers a free shuttle service to the retreat center, picking you up from the Horn-Bad Meinberg station between 8:30 AM and 7:15 PM.

The room at Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg was beautifully furnished, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The food was delicious, but there was definitely not enough hot food for the number of visitors. If you arrived too late, there was only raw food. In addition to the retreat program, you could attend various yoga, mantra and shaman classes and fairs in the house. All according to your own preferences and schedule. Now to the booked program. The "Back Yoga Week for Wellbeing" consisted of two seminars or lectures per day. Overall verdict: Bottomless bad, pure waste of time! The seminar leader saw this topic as further training for yoga teachers, although no yoga teachers were present. The word "well-being" in the title was understood by her as, and I quote: "it's just an abstract concept". She then gave a 70-minute lecture on the anatomical concepts of the human skeleton and musculature in each seminar and read us a 170-page script. Nothing stuck and some participants stopped coming. At the request of the irritated and disappointed participants, the seminar leader showed some yoga exercises in the following hours in supposedly back-friendly implementations. Participants who had already attended a yoga class on this topic beforehand were able to correct the postures shown in the seminar with arguments and reveal the instructor's lack of expertise on this topic. In conversation, we then came to the topic of nutrition. This was much more important to the friendly leader. She enthusiastically and competently provided information about Ayurvedic nutrition and nutritional concepts that are gentle on the gut. Although this did not fit in with the topic we had booked, it at least filled the seminar with interesting and informative content.

It was the first time I did something like that and I liked it. I did the Laughter Yoga theme week but I didn't like the Laughter Yoga itself; I only went once because it was the same explanation and almost the same course every time, which was a pity. But I discovered many other new things and had a lot of fun, made nice hikes and had a good rest. It was a long drive from Belgium to you (5 trains I had to take), but will come back. The only thing I find a pity is that everything is vegetarian. I am not a vegetarian and was then also to the supermarket to buy other things.
