Knitting retreat - from wool to scarf

Everything to do with wool, knitting and creativity!
Sabine Kainz has been working with wool and handicraft techniques since she was a child, turned her hobby into a profession and founded a hand spinning mill, her own wool brand and a wool store. She will accompany all participants through this special week and share her great knowledge and enthusiasm with everyone. The Pichlschloss offers an ideal setting for this week, many cozy places to knit outdoors and comfortable rooms to sit together. The topics of the week:
Spinning on the spinning wheel and hand spindle
Dyeing wool with plants
Carding and combing
Excursion to Huber Wolle
Sauna knitting, knitting at the flintlock, knitting in the castle garden - a happy time and a lively exchange of ideas.

A small road leads you into the courtyard of the Pichlschloss. Your vacation, your summer retreat and time out begins at this entrance to the hotel. Most of the rooms are located in the former "Curhaus", now the "Landhaus", each individually furnished. Many regular guests already have "their" favorite room. The "Grüner Salon" & "Schmadl" apartments, two rooms and the "Gretlgwölb" seminar room are located in the castle, which has been completely renovated in recent years.
Since 2024, an entire floor of the castle, the "Weitblick" apartment for 6-8 people, is ideal for larger groups of friends or your family vacation. Choose your favorite room - standard, classic, nature park or castle room or one of the castle apartments - according to your needs.

Heating is provided by wood chips, fresh spring water flows from the water pipes, cooking is done with products from the Pichlschloss manufactory and the region wherever possible and all laundry is washed and ironed in the hotel in an environmentally friendly way. The hens lay fresh eggs for breakfast every day and trout swim in the castle pond. The herbs and some of the lettuce grow in raised beds. And there are still many things to be implemented. We live gratefully and consciously in a Styrian nature park in the district of Murau. At the Pichlschloss we cook and live according to slow-food principles. We produce our own jam, jarred delicacies, cheese, sausages and spreads. Beef, pork and fish come as far as possible from the farm surrounding the Pichlschloss. The breakfast eggs are laid for you by our hens.
Most of the salad and herbs come from our own garden.
Every week you have the opportunity to shop at the Pichlschloss-Manufaktur.

On Sunday, the day of arrival, we welcome you at 3.00 pm with a welcome drink.
Your room will be ready for you from 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm so that you can arrive comfortably.
From Monday to Saturday the Knitting Retreat takes place from 9:00 - 12:00 in the Gretlgwölb seminar room.
For those who are hungry at lunchtime, a small vegetarian lunch is available between 12:30 - 13:30.
At 15:00 everyone meets for knitting, joint activities or an excursion.
1 Afternoon excursion to Huberwolle
On Saturday afternoon, the work produced is presented so that everyone can see how creative and hard-working they have been this week. At the end there is an exchange of experiences and a feedback session.
Sunday is already here again - after breakfast together, it's time to say goodbye.
