A Break in Nature
Prato-Sornico, Switzerland
$1,892 / 7 Days
You’ve built a life that seems to be going well on the surface. You organize your daily routine, juggle many things at once, think ahead for others, take on responsibility, and often get things done before anyone even has to ask you to. For your job, your relationship, your family, everyday life, and all those invisible things that nobody sees but are always there.
Surprisingly, it all somehow works—maybe it even looks like something out of a picture book to others.
But you also know the price you pay: Your mind never stops; too many thoughts, too many little things constantly running in the background. This inner chatter that never quite stops, not even when there should actually be peace and quiet.
You know you’re there for everyone else, but least of all for yourself. You know how you try to carve out at least a few minutes a day for yourself, only to fall into bed exhausted again at night. You know that feeling as if your system never fully shuts down.
A feeling that the life you once envisioned for yourself doesn’t really make you happy the way things are going right now, and that sometimes you might just want to run away from it all. At the same time, though, you might also tell yourself you just shouldn’t be so ungrateful.
And that’s exactly what this retreat is for—if you’re at that exact point and know: I can’t take it anymore, and things can’t go on like this.
✦ What you can look forward to
During this time, I’ll provide you with a safe, one-on-one space in nature where nothing is expected of you except to be present—just as you are right now. With everything that’s happening inside you and around you, whether it’s weighing you down or pulling at you. A space where you don’t have to be strong and don’t have to have everything under control on your own.
Then we’ll take a deep breath together and look at things calmly.
At your life and at what has long been making itself felt but is drowned out by everyday life: at your needs, which you’ve long overlooked. At your dreams and desires, which have gotten lost somewhere between daily life and responsibilities. At values that have shifted over the course of your life. At your resources, from which you can draw strength and which can make your everyday life worth living again.
This isn’t a retreat that will instantly turn your life upside down. But it’s a space where you can once again feel that you’re still here—amidst everything you accomplish every day.
That your needs are important and deserve a place in your life again. And that even small changes in your daily routine can give you more breathing room.
So that the coming years don’t continue to hold you in a tight grip, but are shaped by you once more.
✦ The Next Step
As you read this, you might feel that this topic resonates with you.
And at the same time, you might be wondering if my retreat is really the right fit for you right now.
You don’t have to decide that just yet—that’s what the free introductory consultation is for.
If you’d like, we can talk first—with no obligation—to see what you’d like to achieve, whether my program fits your situation, and if we click.
The conversation will take about 15 minutes.
Afterward, you can decide at your own pace.
Feel free to reach out to me!
Note: My nature-based retreats can only take place during the warmer months, from approximately May through October, so I can only guide a small number of women and men per season. Please be sure to secure your preferred date for 2026 well in advance.

✦ How I Work
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind the “green couch.”
I support people through life transitions, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their own boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.
My approach is nervous-system-friendly and neurodivergent-friendly—I bring warmth and humor to my work, but also a clear, honest perspective and a willingness to explore with you even the areas that feel uncomfortable.
With me, you’ll find a safe space when a lot is going on inside—things you may have been carrying alone for far too long—and something that’s become very rare: plenty of time and undivided attention, because during your retreat, I’m there exclusively for you to guide you one-on-one through your process.
Many experience this time with me as a safe haven from everyday life: finally not having to “function,” not having to “perform,” and not having to prove anything to anyone. Simply being cared for for a few days, taking a deep breath, and being able to reconnect with yourself.
My foundation is built on training in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, and nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has evolved into my own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and—if desired—supplemented with ritual and energy work.
✦ The Location
My lovingly run retreat is located in the Murtal valley in Styria, nestled among mountains, forests, and water, and I open it to guests during the summer. A place to take a deep breath—no TV, no radio noise, and no constant background noise that pulls you back into the world when you’re actually trying to unwind. Instead, nature’s own movie theater with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to nature and to yourself.
But in my retreats, nature is more than just a backdrop—it not only regulates the nervous system but is also an important part of the process.
✦ What Your Days with Me Will Look Like
Your retreat follows a clear structure but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute.
We work with whatever arises and is important at the moment.
Day 1 – Arrival
Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m., and you’re welcome to take some time to settle in.
Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during a “Walk & Talk” in nature and explore together the topic that brought you here.
The evening is intentionally quiet: settling in, unwinding, a cozy dinner, and stargazing.
Day 2 – Deepening
The second day is the heart of your retreat.
After breakfast, we’ll create space for your topic. Depending on the process, we’ll work through conversation, in nature, through movement, creatively, or via physical awareness.
In between, there will be regular breaks to process your thoughts and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.
Day 3 – Integration
After breakfast, we’ll take some time together to reflect on what we’ve experienced.
What has come to light, what has become clearer, and what aspects of this should accompany you back into your everyday life.
Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
Sustainable travel by train is possible; the train station is within walking distance.
By car from Vienna Vösendorf and Linz: approx. 2 hours
From Graz and Klagenfurt: approx. 1 hour
