Midlife Orientation: 1-on-1 Retreat in Nature—Clarity & Realignment in Midlife

Summary

You’re in the prime of your life, and on the surface, a lot seems to have gone well: you’ve built a life, shouldered responsibilities, and kept things running smoothly for many years. And yet there’s this quiet unease that can’t be explained, but keeps coming back. A sense of distance from yourself and the question of whether the life you’ve lived so far still truly suits you.

Perhaps you notice that much of what has motivated or sustained you over the years suddenly no longer holds the same meaning; priorities are shifting. Things that used to be taken for granted feel more restrictive, while at the same time something new is emerging that you can’t quite grasp yet.
Perhaps a quiet desire arises to align your own life more consciously, harmoniously, and closely with your own needs. Not because everything has been wrong up to now, but because something wants to evolve further.

The psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung described the first half of life as the building of personality and the second as a turning toward one’s own self.
This is exactly what this retreat is for: It does not view this phase of life as a failure or a crisis, but as a natural step in development, and creates the space to move from inner confusion back toward a harmonious, conscious alignment in which you can perceive yourself more clearly and vividly.

○ What to Expect
In an exclusive three-day one-on-one setting, I will guide you through nature as you assess where you stand in life. Together, we’ll honor your life journey so far and what has shaped, supported, and formed you. At the same time, we’ll focus on what wants to reclaim more space in your life: needs, values, longings, or aspects of yourself that have faded into the background over the years.
It’s not about developing a finished life plan or finding hasty answers. Rather, step by step, greater clarity emerges about what truly resonates with you today, which direction feels right, and what your next chapter requires.
Many people leave these days not with a complete plan, but with something deeper: a clearer inner alignment, greater trust in their own intuition, and the sense of standing more consciously and vibrantly in their own lives.

○ Who this retreat is for
This retreat is for people who sense that a new chapter is beginning within them—one that can no longer be ignored.
People who no longer want to be guided solely by expectations, roles, or obligations, but who want to reconnect more deeply with what matters to them personally.
Perhaps you’re seeking greater clarity about where your energy should flow. More connection to yourself instead of constantly functioning and putting yourself last. More inner guidance instead of constant self-optimization and weighing reason, expectations, and the needs of others.
Perhaps you sense that the second half of your life shouldn’t simply be a continuation of the first.
That you don’t want to let the coming years unfold by chance, but rather shape them consciously.
This retreat is for people who are ready to honestly confront these questions and consciously set aside time and space for them. People who sense that something is ready to shift and are now looking for the right setting to give this development their full attention.

○ If you feel that the time is right
If this retreat resonates with you, I invite you to a personal preliminary conversation.
In this conversation, we’ll explore together whether this one-on-one retreat is a good fit for your current life stage and whether it provides the right setting for your needs.
Since I personally guide each process from start to finish, only a limited number of retreat dates are available per summer season (June–October).

○ My Approach
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor, and I’ll guide you personally through these days in a way that’s mindful of your nervous system and neurodiversity.
You’re welcome to take a seat on my “green couch”—both figuratively and literally. Over the course of several days, I’ll hold a clear, safe, and reliable space for you where you don’t have to “function” and where you can find peace. In this space, things may emerge that often have no place in everyday life or have long been overlooked. I am here, observing with you and guiding you through whatever arises with a calm, steady presence. During your retreat, I am there exclusively for you, so that the space truly belongs to you and your process and can unfold at your own pace and according to your needs.
Many clients experience this space in the midst of nature as a kind of sanctuary: a place where they can truly let go for a few days because they don’t have to worry about anything, perform, or pull themselves together.

In my work, I combine psychological process support, body awareness, and nature-based work with a very human, attuned approach. It is important to me that you feel safe, seen, and able to reconnect with yourself internally, even when there is a lot going on inside you. This is not about optimizing you, but about understanding you as a system that reacts in a comprehensible way to its environment, history, and stress.

The goal of these days is not self-optimization, but clarity, relief, understanding, and a deeper connection to what is truly essential to you.

I consciously work with only a small number of clients per season so that I can give each process the necessary depth and presence.

My foundation is built on training in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, as well as nature and wilderness education.

○ The Retreat Location
The retreat location is intentionally simple and low-stimulus: a quiet, nature-oriented retreat without Wi-Fi or television, allowing your nervous system to gradually wind down and become more attuned to subtle sensations.
Nature is not merely a backdrop here, but an active part of the process and a tranquil resonant space that facilitates regulation and helps you gain distance from inner issues.

○ The Schedule
The process follows a clear structure of arrival, deepening, and integration, but is not rigidly planned; rather, it adapts to what arises in the moment.

Day 1 – Arrival
Arrival starting at 3:00 PM and initial settling into the space. Even in the first few hours, a noticeable sense of calm often emerges as daily life, obligations, and the need to be reachable gradually fade into the background.
After your arrival, we’ll get to know each other during a walk and talk and focus on the issue that brought you here. This provides an initial, clear direction for the coming days. The evening is intentionally kept quiet and concludes with dinner.

Day 2 – Deepening
The second day forms the core of the process. After a quiet breakfast, space opens up for your themes and inner movements. Depending on the process, we work through conversation, in nature, creatively, in movement, or via body-oriented approaches. In doing so, connections become visible that are often obscured in daily life or are not given space.
Between sessions, time is intentionally set aside for integration, retreat, and processing. Many people find this very combination of guidance, nature, and silence to be particularly relieving and clarifying. The evening concludes once again with dinner.

Day 3 – Integration
On the final day, we sort through and bring together what has been experienced. We distill the experiences: What has become important, what is currently shifting, and what specific insights will you take back into your daily life.
Together, we focus on the next steps so that these insights can become a genuine inner direction that continues to have an impact beyond the retreat.
Your process space ends around 10:00 a.m. You return to your daily life with greater inner clarity, peace, and a noticeably stronger connection to yourself.
