A silent retreat opens up a special space: a place where silence is not absence, but a conscious awareness of what shows itself from moment to moment. In this silence, the possibility arises to encounter life directly - without haste, without distraction, carried by presence.
The practice of mindfulness invites us to repeatedly arrive in the here and now. We learn to perceive how our mind is constantly moving, which patterns often burden us in everyday life and how we can cultivate a healing approach to them. With each breath, we practise returning to the present moment in a friendly way - to the sensations of the body, the subtle moods and thoughts, the beneficial and obstructive qualities that shape our experience. In this way, step by step, we gain access to inner well-being and insight.
The retreat alternates between guided and silent meditations. The impulses are based on MBSR practice: body scan, mindful yoga, sitting and walking meditation as well as exercises to develop compassion and heart qualities.
Nature is consciously incorporated into the practice. The garden, the wide meadows and the forest provide us with places where the senses awaken and we can experience life directly. The silence of the place helps us to find inner peace; the vastness of the landscape also allows our inner self to expand.
And finally, the community supports us. Even without words, there is a quiet togetherness that provides support - like a hand behind your back that gently supports your own path of mindfulness.
