This retreat is a recognized preventive health program (under Section 20 of the German Social Code, Book V) and combines evidence-based health promotion with a mindful break.
Especially in the summer, this retreat at the monastery offers you the opportunity to step back from daily life, regenerate, and recharge.

Jutta guides you through this Qigong retreat with extensive experience and empathy. Through her work in education, as well as her role as a trainer for teachers and school administrators, stress management, slowing down, self-reflection, and prevention are central themes of her practice.
She has been practicing Qigong for over 15 years and teaches this practice mindfully, calmly, and practically—as an invitation to find peace, recharge your energy, and reconnect with yourself.
Qigong, Mindfulness & Nature – A Holistic Retreat
This Qigong retreat in the Eifel (North Rhine-Westphalia) combines movement, stillness, and nature into a holistic experience. Mindful hiking in the monastery’s surroundings gently supports the practice and helps integrate the experience.
The result is a healing retreat where you can let go, regenerate, and gather new strength for your daily life—calmly, clearly, and at your own pace.
Qigong – Gentle Health Promotion for Body, Heart, and Mind
Qigong is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and serves to promote and maintain health. Through calm, flowing movements combined with conscious breathing and mindfulness, body awareness is cultivated and deepened.
In practice, we experience just how much strength, calm, and vital energy already exist within us. Qigong helps us slow down, reduce stress, and find inner peace.
As part of Qigong’s holistic approach, we practice not only gentle movements but also breathing, meditation, and stillness.
Effects of Qigong – Gentle & Lasting
Regular Qigong practice can:
improve concentration
promote flexibility of the spine and the entire musculoskeletal system
deepen and harmonize breathing
calm the nervous system
strengthen inner peace, stability, and serenity
Alongside Shiatsu and yoga, Qigong is a recognized method for supporting therapy and rehabilitation and is particularly well-suited for prevention and stress reduction.
Contents of the Qigong Prevention Course
Together, we practice the traditional “18 Movements of Qigong” (including extended movement sequences if needed). These have a positive effect on:
- physical well-being
- Posture and alignment
- Breathing flow and energy distribution
The exercises are structured so that they are easy to learn and can be continued independently at home—for lasting effects beyond the retreat.
Who is this Qigong retreat suitable for?
Qigong is particularly gentle and versatile:
Exercises performed standing, sitting, or partially lying down
suitable for all ages
suitable for all fitness levels, even without prior experience
Whether you’re new to Qigong or already have experience—this Qigong retreat at the monastery offers you a safe, peaceful setting for your personal practice.
We look forward to seeing you. Warm regards, Peggy Böhmer
