Your day begins with "yoga of energy". The morning yoga class includes gentle and stimulating karanas (sequences of movements) that allow you to flow in your own rhythm - and then moves on to holding the asanas with strength and ease.
Pranayama, certain breathing techniques, refine your mindfulness and perception. This is followed by a slow coming to rest with practical impulses from yoga philosophy leading to meditation.
Yoga of energy means observing and perceiving the body, sensations and breath - directing energy. Where attention is, energy flows.
"There are worlds between a mechanically executed movement and the same movement that has become fully conscious."
Roger Clerc, founder of the yoga of energy
The afternoon program begins with an hour of Pilates training.
The Pilates training program addresses your abdominal and back muscles in particular, as well as the segmental mobility of your spine, through a targeted combination of strength and stretching exercises. The Pilates exercises give you a strong body center, strengthen your muscle elasticity and improve your posture.
If you have problems with your joints and intervertebral discs, Pilates is an optimal and gentle form of exercise. Precise movement instructions and difficulty variations allow all participants to find the right exercises for their level of difficulty. Your program instructor Sabine uses balls or Thera-bands to make the Pilates exercises intensive and varied.
The special thing about Pilates:
- Effective and targeted strengthening of the deep muscles
- Relaxed shoulders by optimizing the shoulder blade position
- Tightens the stomach and waist
- Reduction of posture-related tension headaches
- Segmental (sectional) mobilization of the spine
- Addressing the fasciae
- Improvement of posture
- Harmonization of neuromuscular imbalances
- General increase in flexibility and mobility
The Pilates workout is followed by a relaxation session with yin yoga, yoga nidra or meditation - you're in for a surprise.
