This retreat is not a men’s group, a seminar on masculinity, or a self-improvement program. It is a guided one-on-one retreat for men who want to take time to regain clarity and explore the questions that often get pushed aside in everyday life.
Perhaps you have a very specific issue in mind: it might be a career decision, a relationship that has changed, your role as a father, or the question of how you want to shape the next phase of your life. Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on it and just sense that it’s time to pause for a moment.
Because, actually, a lot is going well. You take care of your career, family, and relationship; you make decisions, solve problems, and take on responsibility. From the outside, everything seems to be working. Yet many men eventually realize that their joy has diminished, their energy isn’t what it used to be, or they feel as though they’ve lost themselves somewhere amid all the tasks and obligations.
This is often where a sense of disorientation begins—one that is rarely discussed. Men have learned to perform, take on responsibility, and persevere, but rarely learned to ask themselves the question: Who am I, really, beyond performance?
This retreat creates space for exactly this question.
Not to find answers immediately, but to have the opportunity to ask it again at all.
✦ What to expect
Three days in nature, far from schedules, expectations, and the constant pressure to perform—this creates space for what is often overlooked.
The focus isn’t on a rigid program, but on whatever is on your mind right now. Together, we’ll create a space where thoughts can be sorted, questions explored, and new perspectives discovered.
Nature is far more than just a beautiful backdrop; it creates distance from everyday life, and many things become clearer than they do amid emails, appointments, and constant distractions.
Depending on the topic, we work with walk-and-talk sessions, creative methods, nature experiences, body awareness, and simple exercises that can help you sort through your thoughts and better reconnect with what is truly important to you.
Many men tell me after these days that, for the first time in a long while, they felt they didn’t have to perform, but simply had time to reconnect with their own thoughts.
You won’t leave this retreat with a completely new life plan or ten rules for a better life. Instead, you’ll leave with greater clarity about what matters to you, more peace of mind, and the feeling that you’re back in the driver’s seat of your own life—rather than just working through the next task.
✦ If you feel that this retreat could be a turning point
If you’ve recognized yourself more than once while reading this and feel that it’s time for a few days of distance and new perspectives, then please feel free to reach out to me.
We’ll then talk on the phone and see together if my 1:1 retreat is the right next step for you right now.

✦ How I Work
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind the “green couch.”
With me, you’ll find time, space, plenty of nature, and support that honestly addresses what’s going on inside you when you’re going through a lot.
I am familiar with neurodiversity and I work in a way that is sensitive to the nervous system. That means: I don’t take a heavy-handed approach, but of course I also don’t just have a cozy coffee party with you where I spend three days telling you how difficult everything is, only to then wave you home again with a friendly smile.
Yes, sometimes a good conversation by the campfire is needed, and maybe I’ll even send you out into nature on your own—but above all, together with you, I’ll take an honest look at the issues and stories you bring with you, the ones you’ve perhaps been grappling with alone for far too long.
During your retreat, I’m there just for you and will guide you through your process with heart and humor—not following a rigid plan, but focusing on what you need right now.
Many experience this time with me as a safe haven from everyday life: finally not having to “function,” not having to achieve anything, not having to prove anything to anyone. Simply being cared for for a few days, taking a deep breath, and reconnecting with yourself.
I deliberately work with only a few women and men per season. Not to make it sound exclusive, but because personal 1:1 guidance requires time, presence, and attention.
My foundation is built on training in life and social counseling, couples and sex counseling, bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, as well as nature and wilderness education.
✦ The Location
My lovingly run retreat is located in the Styrian Murtal valley, nestled between mountains, forests, and water, which I open to guests in the summer. A place to take a deep breath, without TV or radio noise, without the constant din that pulls you into the world while you’re actually trying to find yourself.
Instead, an open-air theater of nature with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to nature and to yourself.
Nature is more than just a backdrop here. It is part of the process, sometimes soothing, sometimes reflective, and sometimes surprisingly clear. Because often, a single moment in the forest offers more clarity than three months of brooding alone at home.
✦ What your days with me will look like
Your retreat follows a clear structure of arrival, deepening, and integration, yet it is not meticulously timed. We work with what arises and what is truly important right now.
Day 1 – Arrival
Arrival starting at 3:00 PM, and you’re welcome to settle in first.
Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during a Walk & Talk in nature and explore together the topic that brought you here.
The evening is intentionally quiet: settling in, unwinding, and a cozy dinner.
Day 2 – Deepening
The second day is the core of your retreat.
After breakfast, we create space for your topic—whatever arises and needs attention. Depending on the process, we work through conversation, in nature, through movement, creatively, or via physical awareness.
In between, there are regular breaks to process, reflect, and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.
Day 3 – Integration
After breakfast, we take time to bring together what we’ve experienced.
What has emerged, what has become clearer, and what aspects of this should accompany you back into your daily life.
It’s not about solving everything or finishing everything here, but about returning home with greater clarity and a deeper connection to yourself.
Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
