Please also bring sturdy shoes and a warm jacket, as some activities may require this. If you are interested, swimming is possible in one of the many lakes in the area - don't forget your swimming gear and possibly a large bath towel.
What is NIKSEN really? The Dutch word corresponds to the Italian lifestyle dolce far niente (="sweet idleness"). It may sound simple, but anyone who is stuck in a world of tasks, news and obligations will know the feeling of going round in circles without making any progress. In the state of the hamster in the wheel, there is hardly any room for creativity or serenity. Energy is virtually sucked out and productivity stagnates.
For us, this week of NOT DOING doesn't mean that you simply lie in a hammock, although such times are also specifically planned. Rather, it's about you NOT having to make any decisions. You tell us in advance what you don't eat or would like to eat and then you don't make any more decisions from the moment you arrive at KULTURGUTLEBEN. You simply let yourself go and enjoy not being responsible for anything happening.
It's best to hand over your smartphone and enjoy not being reachable for once. Of course, this increases relaxation many times over. If you announce this in advance or, as a compromise, are only available once in the evening for 30 minutes, then this must also be accepted by those around you.
You can get into my car and go swimming with me and our small group in one of the lakes or just lie on the shore and enjoy the view. I'll drive you there and you just enjoy.
You come along for a stroll through a small town, sit in a street café and don't have to worry about a thing.
After a leisurely breakfast, you'll be given a place in the garden: a hammock, a swing or a seat with a deckchair. You just lie there, breathe in and out consciously and deeply, watch the insects bustle about and leaf through wonderfully inspiring magazines until I come and tell you that lunch is ready.
That's how you spend your days and find yourself.
You can simply enjoy, consciously perceive what is around you and don't have to do anything with it. This automatically opens you up and a wave of inspiration fills you. NIKSEN is all about enjoying the time out and giving your mind a break. This will make you more balanced and happier. Of course, you will also sleep better, as all the stressful and sometimes unnecessary ballast will not be with you.
Perhaps after this week you will decide to incorporate at least one NIKSEN day per month into your everyday life. It will lead to more serenity and inner peace and therefore also to a more stable immune system.
In addition to the experiences of the week, you will also receive a guidebook from us. The tips in the book will help you to escape your stress by listening to your needs and allowing more balance into your life.
