Every face is unique.

The core of our work together is to capture and sculpturally realize the characteristic features. The artistic portrait is never just a reflection of the pure physiognomy of the subject, it rather reflects the search for the essence of the portrayed person and at the same time can only be an individual interpretation of the artist.

We will work on a reduced scale on a portrait head made of clay on the model, learn the basics of the craft and have the opportunity to examine our personal perception of the face. On Monday we will create our own silicone mold, which can be used to make casts in various materials.

If interested, there is the possibility of having the results molded and cast in a bronze foundry.

Material costs of €35 per person are payable.

For on-site accommodation, we offer various bedrooms with double beds. There is one shared bathroom with bath and shower per floor.

An extension of the stay is possible by arrangement.

We offer full vegetarian catering for the workshops. This consists of a breakfast buffet (only for overnight stays), hot lunch, cake and fruit as a snack, rounded off by a hot dinner with dessert. We also serve bread, salad, a cheese platter and a selection of wines. All drinks are included.
We are happy to cater for intolerances and special diets.
We mainly use seasonal and certified organic products.

Arrival on 27.09. from 15:00
Overnight stay possible.

We start on the first day at 16:00 with a get-to-know-you coffee. Afterwards we will be introduced to the topic by the artist while creating a first model head. On the second day, we start after breakfast at 10:00 a.m. and complete our first model head by lunch. We will then devote ourselves to a portrait head of our choice based on photos and will only be interrupted by good conversation and delicious food until Sunday afternoon at around 3:30 pm.
If you like, you are welcome to stay at the Werkgut for a few days afterwards and deepen the techniques you have learned in the open workshop.

Arrival

You can reach the WERKGUT as follows:
Arrival by car: Via A7 exit Neumünster Mitte then on B430 to Aukrug and via Hennstedt to Meezen/ A23 exit Scheenefeldt via b430 to Hohenwestedt and via Grauel to Meezen.
Parking spaces are available, as well as charging facilities for electric cars.
Parking for other vehicles is possible.
Arrival by public transport: If you arrive by train, you can be picked up from Wrist or Hohenwestedt station.
Bus connection Hohenwstedt-Meezen-Wrist with bus route 6191.

Very good and challenging workshop. Valerie Otte is an outstanding very sympathetic artist. Accommodation and catering also leave nothing to be desired.

Cancellation policy

Full refund up to 20 days before arrival.
After this, the booking is non-refundable.

It is a pity if a workshop place remains free although others would have liked to book. We therefore ask you to inform us in good time - preferably in writing - if you are unable to attend the workshop you have booked.

The following costs will be incurred in the event of a cancellation:

Up to 60 days before the workshop date, there is no cancellation fee.
Up to 20 days before the start of the workshop, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Thereafter, the full amount will be charged in the event of cancellation.
