Summary

Being there for everyone is a matter of course for most women! Children are raised with care, colleagues are helped, and a few extra hours are worked for the boss. As self-employed people, we make it work for everyone, keep everyone happy, say yes when we sometimes want to scream no, and do everything for our clients. And we enjoy doing it! But where does that leave us? When was the last time we said "yes" to ourselves with all our hearts? Self-care is an issue that many women neglect. It is much more socially acceptable to take care of others than to take care of ourselves. But self-care has nothing to do with selfishness! We have to make sure that we are well before we can be there for others. That's not so easy! With this monastery weekend exclusively for women, I would like to provide inspiration on how to be a good mother to yourself. In the relaxed atmosphere of the Nikolauskloster, far away from everyday life, it is easy to let go of everyday life completely. This weekend is all about you and the topic of self-care. Qigong, with its centered, meditative movements and targeted breathing, helps you relax and optimize your energy flow. Mindful walking through nature and the monastery garden promotes mindfulness and directs your attention to the essentials. The weekend retreat is rounded off with silent and guided meditations, which can have a special effect in a group setting. In between, there is still enough time to process your impressions and deepen them in conversation with the other participants. With numerous exercises, we repeatedly direct our attention to the moment and pure perception, so that the practice of mindfulness is deepened. The trainer, Kerstin Wessel, is a certified Qigong teacher recognized by the German Taiji-Qigong Association, a communication trainer, and a trained TCM therapist. A Qigong health course (€210) is included in the weekend, which is subsidized by statutory health insurance companies.

I was able to reflect a lot on myself during this monastery weekend and developed a new strength and calmness for myself. The community with the other course participants was very pleasant and Kerstin did a great job leading the group. It was definitely worth it and I would like to do it again. Thank you very much Kerstin.
