This retreat is an invitation to consciously step away from everyday life for a few days and immerse yourself in the healing power of silence, meditation, and simplicity.

We will spend our time together at the Niederalteich Monastery in southern Germany. A special place of peace and contemplation, right on the Danube, with abundant nature, a peaceful atmosphere, and space for retreat. A place where thoughts are allowed to quiet down and your inner self becomes audible again.

During the retreat, we practice mindful silence. Often, it is only in silence that we can truly breathe deeply, see more clearly, and reconnect with ourselves.

You can look forward to daily meditations, gentle Hatha Yoga, breathwork and mindfulness practices, guided deep relaxation, as well as time for reflection, walks, and rest.

The retreat combines elements of meditation, yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, and Western contemplationโ€”down-to-earth, open, and free of dogma. Itโ€™s not about having to achieve anything, but about slowing down, letting go, and stepping out of the constant cycle of doing for a few days.

After many retreats and groups in Mexico, Bali, and Germany, I am delighted to once again open this space at the Niederalteich Monastery.

โœจ This retreat is suitable for people who long for peace, clarity, a slower pace, and a mindful break.

The rooms are simple, quiet, and designed to fit the atmosphere of the monastery. Depending on the category, rooms have either a private bathroom or a shared bathroom on the floor. Towels are provided. Some rooms also offer a beautiful view of the countryside or the monastery grounds.

Many participants find the simplicity and tranquility of the rooms to be a particularly soothing part of the retreatโ€”a conscious retreat far from everyday life and constant distractions.

Please book your room directly through the Niederalteich Monastery after registering for the retreat and let me know shortly afterward so I can add you to the participant list.

Catering

When booking your room, full vegetarian board is arranged directly through the Niederalteich Monastery.

Meals are freshly prepared by the monastery kitchen and accompany the retreat days in a simple, nourishing, and mindful way. Many participants find that sharing meals in silence is a particularly beautiful and relaxing part of the retreat.

We eat our meals together in silence. A separate area in the dining hall is reserved for our group, which has proven very effective during past retreats.

Please note that at times, other guests or seminar groups who are not part of the silent retreat may also be in the dining hall.

If you have food intolerances or special dietary needs, please contact the monastery directly in advance to inquire whether appropriate accommodations can be made.

sequence

Each day follows a gentle, clear rhythmโ€”guided by silence, mindfulness, and presence.

The morning begins in silence with a 60โ€“90-minute guided meditation before breakfast. This is followed by a short spiritual reading or inspiration to deepen your practice and offer new insights. We then practice gentle Hatha yoga and mindful movement to connect body and mind and deepen the breath.
After the vegetarian lunch, there is plenty of time for rest, journaling, contemplation, or walks in nature.

In the afternoon, youโ€™ll deepen your practice with another meditation session, followed by half an hour of personal practice. After dinner, thereโ€™s the daily Q&A session (questions can be submitted in writing). Weโ€™ll conclude the day with a meditation on a specific theme or focus.

This peaceful alternation between structure and space creates the foundation for deep regeneration, clarity, and connection with yourself.
