Shape, precision and further development on the potter's wheel
This workshop is aimed at participants with previous knowledge who have already taken a course and would like to improve their skills on the potter's wheel. Under the guidance of ceramic artist Eva Koj, we will work on larger vessels and refine our technique and sense of form. The focus is on turning to measure and working "from the stick" to develop precise proportions and harmonious lines. If you like, you can design a teapot and turn and assemble the individual parts - body, spout, lid and handle. This creates individual pieces that combine precision craftsmanship with personal design.
What you can expect:
- Consolidation of the turning technique and working "from the stick"
- Development of a larger vessel or teapot
- Turning, attaching and assembling individual components
- Personal support from Eva Koj
About the artist:
Eva Koj is a ceramic artist and lives near Kiel. She studied ceramics at the Muthesius University in Kiel and has been working in her own workshop since the 1990s. She has received numerous awards for her vessels, including 1st prize at the Keramikwochen Hüfingen. Her works combine clear forms with experimental surfaces and are represented in national and international exhibitions.
