For me, the silent retreat in Niederalteich was very harmonious and profound. Everything fit well: the group, the monastery, and especially the experienced and very caring leadership. Thank you very much for that!!

Sometimes all it takes is a few days of silence to hear again what gets lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
I invite you to consciously step away from your daily routine for a few days and immerse yourself in the healing power of silence, meditation, and simplicity.
Together, we’ll spend this time at the Niederaltaich Monastery in southern Germany—a special place of peace and reflection right on the Danube. Surrounded by nature, a peaceful atmosphere, and plenty of space for retreat, this setting allows thoughts to quiet down and your inner voice to become audible once more.
At the heart of the retreat are three full days of mindful silence. Often, it is only in silence that we can truly take a deep breath, see more clearly, and reconnect with ourselves.
You can look forward to daily meditations, gentle Hatha yoga, breathing and mindfulness practices, guided deep relaxation sessions, as well as time for reflection, walks, and rest.
The retreat combines elements of meditation, yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, and Western contemplation—grounded, open, and free from dogma. It’s not about having to perform or achieve anything, but about slowing down, letting go, and stepping out of the constant cycle of doing for a few days.
This retreat is for people who long for peace, clarity, a slower pace, and a mindful break. After leading many retreats and groups in Mexico, Bali, and Germany, I’m delighted to once again open this space at the Niederaltaich Monastery.
I look forward to seeing you!

“The retreat will have a lasting impact. It was intimate and powerful, and I felt safe and supported the entire time. The balance between guidance and personal reflection was perfect. The silence was magical for me. Something truly special! This certainly won’t be my last retreat with Katrin.”

The silent retreat was excellently prepared by Katrin B. and was clearly structured. It was accompanied empathically and warmly by her. Good energies among the participants as well. Valuable information and tools were conveyed, creating the opportunity for deeper experiences and insights in meditation. The only limitations were regarding the location: it was very cold in the meditation room, and it would have been nice to have a separate area for the meals taken in silence.

The silent retreat was very well organized. The location was suitable. One could take nice walks along the Danube. However, the room where the meditations took place was very cold. There were only two heaters available, which could not provide the necessary temperature. Many found it too cold. I was lucky to sit near a heater. The vegetarian food was good and sufficient. However, it would have been helpful if the labels (I only eat vegetarian) had been indicated for the individual dishes (especially at the New Year's buffet). The retreat leader was very warm and guided us excellently. Thank you very much.

So far, everything was good, a competent and authentic retreat leader! The cold in the Salletti room was extremely disturbing! It was only bearable with several layers of winter clothing, blankets, and a hot water bottle, which was hindering during meditation. Even though the catering and rooms were okay, I found the price overall to be very high.
