Under the motto “Harness energy and develop inner strength through gentle Tai Chi movements,” the Gisa Anders Tai Chi and Qigong School, in cooperation with Bioland-Arche, is hosting an intensive Tai Chi and Qigong course from August 14–16, 2026.
The mind leads, the body and Ch’i follow, and this creates the essential power that has made Tai Chi Chuan the most famous martial art. (classical Tai Chi texts)
Most people have seen the beautiful, flowing movements of Tai Chi at least once, perhaps in a film about Asia or even while taking a walk in the park. This Far Eastern art of movement has since found many followers in the West. Tai Chi captivates with its gentle sequences of movements, which, together with conscious breathing exercises, bring the body into a harmonious balance. An essential aspect of the ancient Chinese art of movement, Tai Chi Chuan, is finding one’s center through optimal adaptation to gravity, as well as attaining lightness and strength. These are impressive abilities and qualities that can be cultivated through a simple system of exercises, and whose effects can be applied to all physical and mental activities.
In practice, the first movements are practiced as Taoist health exercises and Ch’i-Kung while standing. Even at this stage, the fundamentals of Tai Chi Chuan can be learned: upright posture, a grounded stance, and a connection to the heavens as the spiritual principle. This is followed by a gentle introduction to the movement sequences of Tai Chi Chuan. Individual corrections, playful Ch’i tests, and combat techniques round out the practice. Written and digital Tai Chi exercise guides supplement practice at home.
Participants get to know one another through in-depth discussions about the philosophy and practice of Tai Chi Chuan during breaks over delicious organic food.
