BookAll meals at the Mountain Retreat Center are vegetarian and vegan. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day—at least according to the Chinese. That’s why we also place special emphasis on a good, healthy breakfast—always featuring warm porridge. For lunch, you’ll enjoy soup, bread, and spreads, and in the evening, you’ll be treated to a delicious buffet featuring salad, creative vegetarian and vegan main courses, and dessert. Everything is freshly prepared and, whenever possible, made with seasonal ingredients. We can accommodate food intolerances with advance notice.
Writing reveals its unique power when there is no pressure to achieve anything. Instead, the focus is on curiosity, mindfulness, and self-discovery. Guided by Brigitte Wenzina, the goal is not literary perfection, but rather trust in your own unique ability to express yourself. Every writing voice is welcome—just as it is.
The retreat days follow a clear yet open thematic structure. Under the guiding theme “Being Unique,” you will explore your own way of writing. Texts emerge that are not corrected or judged, but are allowed to have an impact—because they are authentic. Here, writing becomes a space for insight, letting go, and self-expression.
In the second thematic area, “Writing from the Soul,” you turn to your life story. Writing prompts invite you to notice biographical traces, view them anew, and gently put them into words. This gives rise to small literary snapshots that can offer strength and guidance even beyond the retreat.
The third focus is dedicated to meditative poetry. You will explore how texts gain depth without needing to explain much. Through conscious reduction, rhythm, and linguistic subtlety, you will develop a sense of how words work between the lines—and find your own flow of writing.
The Mountain Retreat Center supports this process in a special way: nature walks, quiet retreats, and a soothing atmosphere create ideal conditions for texts to flourish. Amidst tranquility, exchange, and enjoyment, space emerges—for words and for yourself.
Here’s what you’ll take away from your creative retreat:
- Deeper access to your own writing voice: You’ll develop confidence in your individual expression and write more freely and authentically.
- New perspectives through self-reflection: Writing becomes a way to integrate experiences and consciously appreciate the joy of life.
- Strengthening your own uniqueness: Your writing reflects what makes you who you are—honestly, personally, and touchingly.
- Lasting writing inspiration for everyday life: You’ll learn methods that allow you to incorporate meditative and autobiographical writing into your life long-term.
