Summary

TIME FOR THE SOUL - PEACE OF MIND - DIGITAL & MENTAL DETOX - RELAXATION - YOGA - HIKING - MEDITATION - TIME FOR YOU - A BREAK FROM EVERYDAY LIFE amidst unspoiled nature, to recharge and rejuvenate. Surrounded by vast open spaces, idyllic scenery, and the greenery of the Northern Eifel, the two white towers of the Steinfeld Basilica rise behind the wide-open wrought-iron gate of the monastery.

-> Certified as a preventive compact course (KU-ST-P11T2E). Reimbursement from statutory health insurance (GKV) and government subsidies ranging from 75€ to 100% of the retreat fee is possible

Break free from the stress spiral, from the rat race—and step into a BREAK. Find balance with joy and ease, pause, recharge your batteries, and reconnect with yourself, finding your center.

In the idyllic monastery grounds, we enjoy an oasis of peace, surrounded by the power of nature, allowing us to fully reflect on ourselves. We take ample time to discover ways to clear our minds and fully enjoy the calming power of mental fasting.

A retreat from our usual surroundings can help us find our inner balance and reconnect with the source of our own strength.

Time and again, we must take good care of ourselves, treating ourselves to a little time out to replenish our energy reserves for the demands of daily life. Break free from the spiral of stress—a retreat for body, mind, and soul featuring revitalizing, dynamic, and relaxing breathing and yoga techniques. Complemented by mindfulness exercises and techniques from the MBSR method, as well as meditation and various relaxation techniques such as autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation, and Yoga Nidra, our nervous system and restless mind are gradually guided toward calm. A sense of relaxation and deep inner peace can be experienced.

This Mental Detox, Yoga, and Hiking Week is a retreat and a journey to yourself, inward. Feel—perceive—observe—simply be.

TIME ONLY FOR YOURSELF! A break and relaxation for body, mind, and soul

A break will also take place at Steinfeld Monastery before or after the retreat. You are also welcome to extend this break by 2 nights—thus giving yourself the gift of TIME FOR YOURSELF.

Accommodation

In 2015, the new guesthouse at Steinfeld Abbey opened its doors. The former boarding school was transformed into 64 rooms meeting high four-star standards. Only the floor plan and the stairwell serve as reminders that students once lived there. The double and single rooms, ranging from 25 m² to 30 m², and the two junior suites at 48 m² exude monastic simplicity combined with contemporary design and comfort.

They feature solid oak plank floors, natural stone in the bathrooms, and natural materials for fabrics, upholstery, and blankets. The comfortable box-spring beds are generously sized at 2.10 m in length. Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, minibar, and telescopic reading lamps are standard. Some of the double rooms are also equipped with a sofa bed. In addition, all rooms are barrier-free, and three accessible rooms have been fitted with panoramic windows. A glass elevator connects the three floors of the building. The rooms are adorned with artwork from the Steinfelder Academy.

However, guests still enjoy the monastic-style, simple rooms in the monastery’s Baroque wing. The cozy single and double rooms are functionally equipped with a shower/toilet or feature a shared bathroom. In the double rooms, the beds are mostly separate. Inviting common rooms are available for guests, especially for groups or families. Here you can spend the afternoon or evening hours in a relaxed atmosphere.

Hello, I attended a yoga retreat for the first time and it was a wonderfully positive experience. Katja conducted the classes so beautifully and relaxed that my heart was touched many times. I also felt very comfortable in the group. Thank you for this very beautiful time! We will certainly see each other again.

A nice, quiet place, delicious food, very friendly staff. I was able to relax very well there. There was too much program for me on some days, so I didn't take part in some of it. But that was perfectly OK. I will definitely come back again.

A great experience in a great place with great people. The extended weekend was everything you can imagine. Steinfeld Monastery really is a place of power and a place to recharge your batteries. The Vivere Vital retreat was also a great experience. Having arrived with some skepticism, the group and the two facilitators quickly dispelled any doubts. I was able to fully enjoy the varied program. It was definitely too early to say goodbye on Sunday. But that's the way it is! I can only recommend everyone to take part in such a retreat. Thank you for a great few days!
