Directions from the south: Take the A7 to the Salzgitter interchange, then head toward Braunschweig. Take the city highway toward Lüneburg-Gifhorn until you reach Uelzen, then continue toward Dannenberg. In Uelzen (Oldenstedt), turn right toward Lüchow (B 493) until you reach Küsten. After Küsten (2 km), turn right at the intersection with the sign for Lübeln-Freilichtmuseum-Kartoffelhotel. The Kartoffel-Hotel is the first building on the left in the village.
From the north: Take the highway to Lüneburg. Before Lüneburg, take the B 4 bypass toward Uelzen; take the Dannenberg exit; continue through Dahlenburg to Metzingen; in Metzingen, turn right toward Lüchow/Pudripp, staying on the county road through all intersections; the road ends right at our door.
Directions from the east: (Berlin area) Take the Berlin-Hamburg highway to Neustadt/Glewe, then head toward Ludwigslust in the direction of Dannenberg/Uelzen on the B 248 until 2 km before Lüchow; turn right toward Uelzen; after 1.8 km, turn left at the small intersection. The road ends in front of the hotel.
Directions from the west: Take the A 2 to the A 37 junction, then immediately onto the A 7, and continue on the A 352 to the Mellendorf/Fuhrberg exit. Head toward Fuhrberg/Celle; in Celle, follow the bypass toward Lüneburg/Uelzen until you reach Uelzen. (Then continue as described for the route from the south (above).
Arriving by train: There are two train stations for your journey to the Kartoffel-Hotel by train. Salzwedel Station (Berlin–Salzwedel: 1 hour 9 minutes); for the Salzwedel–Lüchow connection, there is a call-and-ride bus, or you can take a taxi directly. Uelzen Station: For the Uelzen–Lüchow route, there is a bus service that even stops directly in Lübeln.
