BookEvery day at lunch and dinner, you can enjoy hearty meals—a vegan whole-food buffet. If you also enjoy breakfast, you’ll find fruit at the buffet starting at 8 a.m., perfect as a snack after meditation or for a quick bite between meals. Tea and water are available throughout the day.
We use only fresh, organic ingredients in our dishes. We place great importance on seasonal, sustainable products and support local farmers and partners.
Fresh salads, cucumbers, carrots, beets, and two different dressings are the main components of our buffet. For those who prefer hot food, there are also platters of steamed vegetables—including broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, and fennel—as well as curries, dal, and soups, which are a great alternative to the raw vegetable bar. In addition, there’s always a selection of high-quality oils, grains, and seeds. Bread and gluten-free alternatives, as well as homemade vegan spreads, are available for brunch.

4:30 p.m.: Opportunity to participate in a yoga class: Asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation.
6:00 p.m. Dinner.
7:00 p.m. Official start of the training with meditation, mantra chanting, introductions, and a lecture.
Daily Schedule Starting on the 2nd Day:
6:00–8:30 a.m. Morning meditation, mantra chanting, lecture
8:45–11:05 a.m. Asanas, pranayama, deep relaxation:
Yoga class, separate sessions for advanced, intermediate, and gentle levels
11:05 a.m. Breakfast/lunch. Karma Yoga (volunteer work, approx. 45 min.). Study time (approx. 45 min.). Break
2:00 – 3:45 p.m. Lecture/workshop
4:00 – 6:10 p.m. Teaching techniques for asanas, pranayama, and deep relaxation, and hands-on teaching experience in small groups

Due to the intensity of the training, it is not possible to arrive later, depart earlier, or miss a day in between. Participation in all courses, lectures, and workshops—including morning and evening meditation with mantra chanting—is mandatory and a prerequisite for receiving the certificate. Meat, fish, eggs, tobacco, and alcohol are not permitted during the training.

The Yoga Vidya retreat center is idyllically situated on the outskirts of the old spa town of Bad Meinberg. The location is quiet yet central, making it easily accessible by train or car. Larger cities in the vicinity include Paderborn (27 km away), Bielefeld (35 km away), and Hanover (100 km away).
If you’re traveling by train, we recommend getting off at the Horn-Bad Meinberg station, which is about 5 km from the Yoga Vidya retreat center. To get to the seminar house, Yoga Vidya Bad Meinberg offers a free shuttle service that picks you up from the Horn-Bad Meinberg train station between 8:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.
