Summary

The price includes accommodation, full board (organic, vegetarian), VAT, and guidance. Seven days—a full week—of complete retreat into silence: with no contact with the outside world, you’ll experience pure detoxification. A structured journey into your past that can take on a whole new meaning through three questions. Get to know yourself and your life from a completely new perspective—you might even find yourself falling in love (again) with yourself, your partner, your work...
You reflect on yourself using the three questions in relation to your most important significant others at manageable intervals; approximately 9 times a day (every 1–2 hours), your guide will come for a conversation in which you briefly share examples of what you’ve recalled. Three meals a day are served to your room; fruit and beverages are available at your disposal...
"If only I’d dared to do this sooner, I would have been spared a lot of heartache" or "This is the best thing that could have happened to me!" are just examples from happy participants who, after a week, felt perfectly prepared for their "life after"—and for many, the effect lasts a very long time...

Accommodation

Two of our four rooms face southeast and have balconies, while the other two face northwest. We have two single rooms, one room with a double cabin, and one room with three cabins (similar to Japanese-style dormitories), with each participant having a room to themselves.

Catering

In general, we prepare vegetarian meals using mostly fresh, organic ingredients. Fresh herbs from the garden enhance the flavor of our dishes and also serve as a garnish (depending on the season). If you have any special requests or dietary restrictions, we’re happy to accommodate them. So you’re in good hands with us even if you have gluten and/or lactose intolerances or other allergies.

sequence

"Naikan (Introspection) is a gift to humanity and the path to a better world. You’re helping a person—and by extension, an entire family..." We often hear and read feedback like this after a Naikan (Introspection) week :-)
We are always very happy to hear this, because during this week the participants have gone through a profound process that even those with years of experience in seminars, meditation, and/or therapy describe as indescribable and extraordinary.
But the week is also quite intense: approximately 15 hours of introspection daily, interrupted only by brief, ritualistic conversations, delicious vegetarian meals, and a short working meditation. By the end of the week, you will have practiced for around 90 hours and received approximately 60 conversations—and you will be filled with gratitude, contentment, and reconciliation with your past.
And you’ll feel completely refreshed and grounded—making the retreat ideal for people dealing with depression, burnout, and all kinds of emotional challenges. Many, however, come simply out of curiosity about their past and their patterns, and EVERYONE leaves the week happier than they were before ;-)

Arrival

Our nearest train station is Spiegelau. Participants find the ride on the Waldbahn to be very relaxing and pleasant. We’d be happy to pick you up from the nearest train station in Spiegelau for a voluntary donation, or—for an additional fee of €150—from the nearest airport in Munich. And of course, we’ll take you back there on the day of your departure...

The Naikan guides were super nice, enormously respectful and full of humility. The food was very tasty and varied even for me as a meat eater. All in all, an all-around cared-for journey to myself, where nothing was lacking.
