✦ How I Work: Your Safe Haven
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind “The Green Couch.” I support people through life transitions, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.
• With heart, humor, and clarity: I take a nervous-system- and neurodivergence-friendly approach, but I also bring an honest attitude and a willingness to explore with you the places where things get uncomfortable.
• Undivided attention: With me, you’ll get something that’s become rare: plenty of time. During your retreat, I’m there exclusively and one-on-one just for you and your process.
• No “functioning,” no “performing”: Many experience their time with me as a safe haven from everyday life. Simply be cared for for a few days, take a deep breath, and explore together with someone the burden you’ve been carrying alone for far too long.
The Foundation of My Work
I’ve trained in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, TSY bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, and nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has shaped my very own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and deeply grounding.
✦ The Retreat Location: Nature’s Cinema Instead of Constant Noise
My lovingly maintained place of power is located in the Murtal valley in Styria. Surrounded by lush green nature and nestled between mountains, forests, and water. It’s a place to take a deep breath, completely free of TV, radio noise, or the constant digital buzz that keeps you constantly disconnected from yourself.
Instead, you’ll find: nature’s cinema with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to yourself. Nature is far more than just a beautiful backdrop: It helps regulate your overloaded nervous system and is an active part of our shared process.
✦ What Your Days with Me Will Look Like
Your retreat follows a clear structure, but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute. We work intuitively with whatever arises in the moment.
• Day 1: Arrival & Settling In Starting at 3:00 p.m., you’ll arrive at your own pace. Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during our first “Walk & Talk” in nature and take a forest bath.
The evening is all about unwinding: a cozy dinner, taking a deep breath, and stargazing.
• Day 2: Deepening & Process Work The core of your retreat. After breakfast, space opens up for you and your process; depending on what arises and what you need, we’ll work in nature through forest bathing, creative activities, or with TSY and body awareness.
In between, there will be regular breaks to process, reflect, and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.
• Day 3: Integration & Transfer After breakfast together, we’ll take time to reflect on the experience: What has come to light? What has become clearer, and how will you take this new strength back with you into your everyday life? Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
