Summary

Perhaps you’re familiar with the expressions “frozen with fear” or “that shook me to the core.” These colloquial phrases describe something that is now well understood in somatic psychology: Traumatic experiences also leave physical traces.

It doesn’t necessarily take a severe trauma for this to happen. Chronic overwhelm and constant stress can also cause us to gradually lose touch with our bodies.

Perhaps you feel inwardly exhausted, tense, and no longer truly at home in your own body. Your body feels more like a machine than a living space. You may only vaguely sense physical warning signs—or notice them far too late—and your limits usually only become apparent once they’ve long since been crossed.

This is often a gradual process that unfolds over many years, when functioning takes precedence over feeling, and enduring becomes the normal response.

But it doesn’t have to stay this way. This retreat is for you if you’re feeling a growing desire for your body to finally become a vibrant, safe, and secure home again.

✦ What you can look forward to
Nestled within the soothing power of nature, a safe space is created where you can completely step away from everyday life for a few days.

* Trauma-sensitive one-on-one yoga without pressure to perform: this will be the central theme throughout the retreat. Here, yoga is simply the umbrella term for your journey inward. Forget Instagram-worthy poses—it’s all about gradually reconnecting with your body and rebuilding a safe connection with yourself. Sometimes this is simply lying still or making a minimal movement. You don’t need any prior experience; everything is individually tailored to your pace and physical capabilities.

* Experiencing nature with all your senses: Your process is complemented by gentle forest bathing that engages all your senses and subtle human-energetic impulses. Here, nature isn’t just a pretty backdrop—it’s an active, low-stimulus space for experience that helps your system shift from constant tension to deep regulation.

* Your Tools for Home: You’ll learn to recognize your body’s signals earlier and to lovingly respect your limits. You’ll incorporate these simple, effective exercises into your daily life as a steady anchor. And one thing is certain: the way you treat yourself will become noticeably kinder.

 ✦ The Next Step
As you read this, you may feel that this topic resonates with you. And perhaps you’re also wondering whether my retreat is really the right fit for you right now. You don’t have to decide that just yet—that’s exactly what the introductory conversation is for.
We’ll have a completely no-obligation conversation, assess where you’re at right now, answer your questions, and simply see if the chemistry between us is right. The conversation is free and lasts about 15 minutes.
Afterward, you’ll have a clear sense of which next step feels right for you.
Feel free to send me your request.

Note: My nature-based retreats can only take place during the warmer months, from around May to October, so I can only guide a small number of women and men per season. Please secure your preferred date for 2026 well in advance.

✦ How I Work: Your Safe Haven
I’m Sabine, a psychological counselor and the woman behind “The Green Couch.” I support people through life transitions, especially when it comes to reconnecting with themselves, taking their boundaries seriously, and no longer ignoring their own needs.
• With heart, humor, and clarity: I take a nervous-system- and neurodivergence-friendly approach, but I also bring an honest attitude and a willingness to explore with you the places where things get uncomfortable.
• Undivided attention: With me, you’ll get something that’s become rare: plenty of time. During your retreat, I’m there exclusively and one-on-one just for you and your process.
• No “functioning,” no “performing”: Many experience their time with me as a safe haven from everyday life. Simply be cared for for a few days, take a deep breath, and explore together with someone the burden you’ve been carrying alone for far too long.

The Foundation of My Work
I’ve trained in life and social counseling, couples and sex therapy, TSY bodywork, human energetics, shamanism, and nature and wilderness education. Over the years, this has shaped my very own style: psychologically grounded, nature-based, and deeply grounding.

✦ The Retreat Location: Nature’s Cinema Instead of Constant Noise
My lovingly maintained place of power is located in the Murtal valley in Styria. Surrounded by lush green nature and nestled between mountains, forests, and water. It’s a place to take a deep breath, completely free of TV, radio noise, or the constant digital buzz that keeps you constantly disconnected from yourself.
Instead, you’ll find: nature’s cinema with the murmur of a stream and a chorus of birds. No Wi-Fi, but a full connection to yourself. Nature is far more than just a beautiful backdrop: It helps regulate your overloaded nervous system and is an active part of our shared process.

✦ What Your Days with Me Will Look Like
Your retreat follows a clear structure, but isn’t meticulously scheduled down to the minute. We work intuitively with whatever arises in the moment.
• Day 1: Arrival & Settling In Starting at 3:00 p.m., you’ll arrive at your own pace. Afterward, we’ll get to know each other during our first “Walk & Talk” in nature and take a forest bath.
The evening is all about unwinding: a cozy dinner, taking a deep breath, and stargazing.

• Day 2: Deepening & Process Work The core of your retreat. After breakfast, space opens up for you and your process; depending on what arises and what you need, we’ll work in nature through forest bathing, creative activities, or with TSY and body awareness.
In between, there will be regular breaks to process, reflect, and rest.
The evening winds down peacefully over dinner.

• Day 3: Integration & Transfer After breakfast together, we’ll take time to reflect on the experience: What has come to light? What has become clearer, and how will you take this new strength back with you into your everyday life? Your retreat ends around 10:00 a.m.
