Summary

Discovering Structures – Developing Forms – Experiencing Clay

This 4-day workshop is designed for people who want to sharpen their perception and creatively translate natural structures into ceramics. The focus is on conscious observation, gathering impressions, and their free artistic interpretation.
Together, we will explore selected locations on Lanzarote and engage with the surfaces, textures, lines, and forms of the surroundings. These impressions will be captured through photos, sketches, impressions, or drawing studies and subsequently translated into sculptural works of clay in the studio.
Whether it’s a tile, a bowl, a small sculpture, or an abstract object—there are no limits to your creativity. The artist will personally guide you through the process and tailor the experience to your ideas, prior experience, and preferences. The intentionally small group size of no more than four participants fosters a calm, inspiring work atmosphere with plenty of room for personalized guidance and creative expression.

The course combines:

* Perception exercises in the outdoor space
* Capturing structures through drawing and touch
* Experimental work with clay
* Individual artistic guidance

No prior experience is required. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants.

Accommodation

In the town of Tias and the surrounding area, there are many options for booking accommodations to suit your individual preferences. I’d be happy to provide tips and information on this. To get the most out of your island experience, I would recommend renting a car. You should book this as far in advance as possible, as availability can sometimes be limited. In general, renting a car in the Canary Islands is very affordable.
If you’re staying in Tias itself, you can of course reach my workshop on foot. Bus service is available and affordable. However, some destinations are only accessible during limited hours and require frequent transfers.

Catering

The course includes snacks and beverages:
At lunchtime, course participants enjoy a tapas meal on the terrace.
A picnic is provided during the excursion.
The snacks and meals are prepared primarily with regional fruits, vegetables, and fish from the island.
Overall, vegetarian dishes predominate.

Legal notice: This offer is not a catering service.
