DAY 1
Arrival & Welcome.
Your tour guide, Angélique, will meet you at Horta Airport (HOR). A short, scenic drive across the island will take you to the beautiful Ecolodge—your home for the coming week.
Take your time settling in and enjoy the special atmosphere of your accommodation with a welcome drink. Depending on your arrival time, a light lunch will be served. In the evening, we’ll have dinner together.
After a long day of travel, a cozy bed awaits you, where you can relax and unwind.
DAY 2
Forest bathing in the mystical jungle.
You’ll meet the group after breakfast.
Your guide will give you an introduction to the day’s hike and then take you to the starting point. You’ll hike for about 3 hours along the rocky coast and through lush, mysterious jungle trails. Along the way, we’ll take a mindful break in the forest and discover a small, hidden lava cave deep in nature.
After leaving the forest, we arrive at the breathtaking Fajã Bay—an exotic landscape with orchards and vineyards, nestled beneath impressive cliffs reaching up to 300 meters high. Here you’ll enjoy a packed lunch near the beach.
In the afternoon, we return to the Ecolodge, where you’ll have time to rest.
After this eventful day, we’ve more than earned our dinner together at PÁTIO.
DAY 3
Hike around the Caldeira of Faial.
We start the day with some light stretching and a short meditation before breakfast.
After breakfast, you can relax in the garden or on your terrace.
Weather permitting, we’ll drive up to the Faial Caldera. At an altitude of about 1,000 meters, we’ll reach the rim of the dormant volcano “Caldeira do Faial.” Together, we’ll hike about 8 km along the crater rim and enjoy breathtaking views into the crater, which is about 400 meters deep.
From the rim of the caldera, spectacular panoramic views of Faial, the Atlantic Ocean, and the surrounding islands unfold before you. The hike takes about three hours and requires sturdy hiking boots as well as a backpack with water and snacks.
In the afternoon, the loop trail leads you back to the starting point. After a short drive, we return to the Ecolodge. A relaxed evening with good conversation and sharing the day’s experiences over dinner together perfectly rounds off this special experience.
DAY 4
Voice Coaching & Vision Board.
Today is dedicated to mental reflection and your personal expression. After breakfast, you’ll meet your coach in the studio. Together with the group, you’ll explore how to express yourself more authentically and strengthen your self-confidence through the power of your voice. You’ll learn how posture, mindfulness, breathing, thoughts, and emotions influence your voice and presence.
A light lunch is served on the terrace of the Ecolodge.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll unleash your creativity during a vision board session. You’ll design a personal board that reflects your life goals and dreams and helps you gain clarity on what you truly want to manifest. This reflective exercise sets strong intentions and sets your desires in motion.
Dinner at PÁTIO.
DAY 5
Hike along the water channels & meditation.
We start the day with gentle stretching exercises and a morning meditation to activate body and mind. After breakfast, your guide Angélique will give you an overview of today’s hike and then accompany you on a short drive to the starting point.
Over 50 years ago, small water channels were built here to supply meadows, villages, and a local power plant. Today, we follow these channels through an enchanting landscape of wild nature, dense forests, and narrow gorges. The roughly three-hour hike takes us past small tunnels, wooden bridges, and finally to a small volcano. At the end of the trail, you’ll even have the chance to enter the crater through a tunnel. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a classic backpacker-style picnic.
After this varied tour, we’ll bring you back to the Ecolodge in the afternoon. You’ll have plenty of time to relax before we meet for dinner.
DAY 6
The City of Horta.
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you on an excursion to the colorful city of Horta. This centuries-old port city is rich in history and full of fascinating sights. You’ll discover highlights such as the colorful marina, old pirate fortresses, the charming old town, and of course the legendary sailors’ pub “Peter Café Sport,” where we’ll stop for lunch. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the town and the beautiful bay on your own.
Back at the ecolodge, dinner will be served in the evening, followed by a well-deserved rest in your cozy bed.
DAY 7
Hike to the Capelinhos Volcano.
Enjoy another delicious breakfast before we set off on today’s adventure. This roughly three-hour hike takes you over two smaller volcanoes to the impressive Capelinhos Volcano—a geological wonder that emerged from the sea during the 1957–1958 eruption. This powerful event left a lasting mark on the island and led to over 15,000 residents of Faial emigrating to the U.S. and Canada.
At the Capelinhos Visitor Center, located below the surface of the volcano, you’ll learn more about the eruption and the unique role of the Azores as a volcanic hotspot—often referred to as the “Hawaii of Europe.” After this impressive visit, you’ll have the opportunity to climb the old lighthouse and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire volcanic landscape. A perfect moment to let the forces of nature work their magic on you in peaceful tranquility.
The next stop is the Capelo Arts and Crafts School, where local artists create beautiful handmade pieces using regional materials. Here you’ll find wood carvings, paintings, and products made from soft, felted wool from Faial—perhaps the perfect souvenir to take home.
Dinner will once again be served at PÁTIO, where we’ll wrap up our final evening together.
DAY 8
Departure.
All good things must come to an end. After breakfast, it’s time to check out. We’ll take you to the airport for your flight home.
After 8 unforgettable days in the Azores—filled with nature, reflection, and meaningful encounters—we say goodbye. But the memories will stay with you for a long time to come.
