Summary

In this workshop, we will explore the different faces of porcelain with Ulrike Uschmann. It can be not only pure, white and sensual, but also wild, colorful and garish. We will explore the material using cast porcelain plates that we have painted with porcelain slips. These can grow into plates, a cup or a bowl. The mixing of the different porcelain colors will be just as much a topic as the porcelain casting and the assembly of the porcelain plates. Finally, the student can react to the plate or mug with a colorful gesture - everything is possible, from a delicate line to a colored blob - and the work is completed.
Additional material costs of €40 per person are payable. Firing, glazing and shipping will be charged separately at cost.

Accommodation

For on-site accommodation, we offer various bedrooms with double beds. There is one shared bathroom with bath and shower per floor.
An extension of the stay is possible by arrangement.

Catering

We offer full vegetarian catering for the workshops. This consists of a breakfast buffet (only for overnight stays), hot lunch, cake and fruit as a snack, rounded off by a hot evening meal with dessert. We also serve bread, salad, a cheese platter and a selection of wines. All drinks are included.
We are happy to cater for intolerances and special diets.
We mainly use seasonal and certified organic products.

Arrival on Thursday from 13:00

On Thursday we will start setting up our workstations at 2 p.m. and will be introduced to the theme by the artist. Afterwards we will only be interrupted by delicious food and nice conversations until Saturday afternoon around 4 pm. An overnight stay is possible.
All the necessary tools are available, the material will be brought by the artist.

Arrival

You can reach the WERKGUT as follows:
Arrival by car: Via A7 exit Neumünster Mitte then on B430 to Aukrug and via Hennstedt to Meezen/ A23 exit Scheenefeldt via b430 to Hohenwestedt and via Grauel to Meezen.
Parking spaces are available, as well as charging facilities for electric cars.
Parking for other vehicles is possible.
Arrival by public transport: If you arrive by train, you can be picked up from Wrist or Hohenwestedt station.
Bus connection Hohenwstedt-Meezen-Wrist with bus route 6191.

Cancellation policy

Full refund up to 60 days before arrival.
If you cancel up to 20 days before arrival, you will receive a 50% refund of the booking price.
After this, the booking is non-refundable.

It is a pity if a workshop place remains free although others would have liked to book. We therefore ask you to inform us in good time - preferably in writing - if you are unable to attend the workshop you have booked.

The following costs will be incurred in the event of a cancellation:

Up to 60 days before the workshop date there is no cancellation fee.
Up to 20 days before the start of the workshop, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. Thereafter, the entire amount will be charged in the event of cancellation.
