Welcome to a wonderful place where, far from the routines of daily life—in a climate that warms and soothes—you can paint with guidance.
If you’re seeking new experiences, longing for change, wanting to release stress, looking to connect more deeply with yourself and others, wishing to give your intuition room to unfold, eager to experience something new and surprising, seeking to find peace or get your heart racing, and wanting to discover your own strengths, then please join us for Guided Painting.
Begin and let the painting guide and surprise you.
This leads to the exciting creation of images that are NEW, and in this way, space is created for creativity, transformative effects, and truly new solutions.
Images are sensory images; they are directly connected to a person’s senses and their sense of purpose in life. The images are painted to gain a new understanding of something, not to illustrate what is already known. (Bettina Egger)
Since we as painters often overlook or initially reject new ideas, avoid what frightens us, and tend to stick to familiar paths, I accompany the process in a supportive, clarifying, confrontational, and compassionate manner, and take care of the paintings.
What is remarkable is the profound and far-reaching impact of this painting work, the humanity of the method, and the closeness of the images and the act of painting to our most fundamental way (The brain is an imaging organ. G. Hüther)—our innate way of discovering, experiencing, influencing, processing, and shaping the world.
The most important facts in a nutshell:
Help with finding flights and accommodations
small snack
Course fee, including the cost of materials
Plakias is right on the sea, with a wide selection of small accommodations, a few hotels, taverns, shops, cafes, and bars. And yet it’s still a cozy little village. You can take a taxi together to the studio for as little as 1 euro each. Or you can book a villa or other accommodation within walking distance of the studio house, or in one of the other mountain villages with fantastic ocean views. Depending on your preference, you can stay alone or with the other artists. I’ll be happy to help coordinate this.
A snack is provided during the break.
Many accommodations have fully equipped kitchens for self-catering. It’s also worth enjoying a meal at the wide variety of taverns by the sea or in the mountains.
We start at 11 a.m. and paint for two 2-hour sessions.
Even though the painting takes place in a small group, I work individually with each participant. The paintings are not discussed as a group. At the end of each painting day, we share our experiences during a group wrap-up.
During breaks, there are lovely shaded and sunny spots available on the large terrace with a view of the sea and throughout the property.
The fourth day is a day off from painting, so you’ll have time to explore the area, go on excursions, spend time at the beach, or just relax.
You’ll need to arrange your own travel. We’re happy to help. The town is accessible by bus. And there are flights to the airports in Heraklion and Chania from many different locations.
