Summary

Trekking Retreat for Athletic Men Only.

From February 27 to March 6, 2027, we’ll spend eight days in Morocco, four of which will be spent hiking through the Sahara—4–5 hours a day. Nights under the open sky, sand, heat, and wind. A maximum of 12 men, three lead coaches, plus a Bedouin team. You’ll only need to take five days off work.

For men who shoulder a lot of responsibility and want to regain clarity about what truly matters to them.

You’re used to taking on responsibility—at work, in your family, and for the people who rely on you. You organize, make decisions, and hold everything together. And you handle a lot on your own.

On the surface, everything seems to be going well. Yet the question of what you actually want still arises. Usually in the evening, when things quiet down.

Overtime doesn’t help you if you feel that your nervous system is overloaded.

Distance—You view your daily life from the outside and gain a clearer sense of what’s important to you.
Presence—You become more aware of yourself, your body, and the moment.
Connection—You realize you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

This is a good fit if you carry a lot of responsibility and are seeking distance, are athletic and want to walk four to five hours a day—even in the heat and wind—want to sleep outdoors and live simply, seek interaction with other men, and don’t want ready-made answers but rather your own.

This program isn’t right for you if you’re looking for a comfortable vacation, lack basic physical fitness, or are currently in the midst of an acute crisis that requires medical or therapeutic care.

The Coaches:
Ralf Hertle – Coach, leadership, resilience, and mindfulness trainer. Accompanies the men during the trek.
Patricia Lopez – Systemic therapist and yoga teacher. Leads the constellations.
Nadja Crivelli – Yoga teacher, coach, and embodiment expert. Has been leading retreats in the Sahara since February 2024.
Patricia and Nadja co-lead the yoga sessions as well as the reflection and journaling sessions.

Don’t wait until your wife sends you on a retreat. Or until your colleagues or your doctor tell you that you need a break. Treat yourself to this retreat.

We’ll talk before you book. Then you can decide at your own pace.

Accommodation

Kein WC, kein fliessend Wasser, kaum Empfang. Waschwasser gibt es, eine Dusche nicht. Wir zeigen dir am ersten Tag, wie es geht.

Faisal und sein Beduinen-Team von Magic of Desert bauen die Zelte auf, kochen und führen durch die Wüste.

Book

Catering

Full board, Moroccan cuisine, freshly prepared, mostly vegetarian. We eat together in the evenings by the fire.

Please mention any food intolerances during the preliminary discussion, and we’ll take them into account when you arrive.

sequence

Day 1 – Arrival in Marrakesh. We’ll meet at a traditional riad. We’ll get to know each other and discuss the upcoming days.
Day 2 – Across the Atlas Mountains to M’hamid. We’ll spend the first night at a desert camp.
Days 3–6 – On foot through the Sahara. Four days with Faisal and his Bedouin team, 4–5 hours a day, often in silence. Across sand dunes and rocky terrain, through dried-up riverbeds, over hard clay plains, and sometimes through muddy areas. The camels carry our luggage. We sleep in a Bedouin tent or under the open sky.
Day 7 – Back to Marrakesh. Farewell to the Bedouin team, drive over the Atlas Mountains.
Day 8 – Wrap-up and journey home. You’ll travel home or stay a few more days.

Trekking during the day, conversations by the fire in the evening. We walk, take breaks, and eat together. In between, there are conversations, guided reflection, and silence.

After walking, you’ll write for yourself. Then there’s a sharing circle—those who wish to can share their thoughts. You decide whether and how much to share.

With Patricia, you’ll explore themes related to family, work, and relationships through systemic constellations. Yoga, breathwork, and meditation help you unwind after walking and bring you peace.

At the end, you’ll reflect on what you’ve gained and what your next step will be. After you return, there will be an integration call.

You don’t need any hiking or yoga experience, but you do need to be in good physical condition.

Arrival

You’ll book your own flight to Marrakesh. If you’d like to add extra days before or after your trip, you’ll need to arrange that on your own. We’d be happy to give you some tips.

You can offset the carbon footprint of your flight through atmosfair or myclimate.
