Jutta will guide you through this Qigong retreat with her wealth of experience and empathy. Through her work in education, as well as her role as a trainer for teachers and school administrators, stress management, slowing down, self-reflection, and prevention are central themes of her practice.

She has been practicing Qigong for over 15 years and teaches this practice mindfully, calmly, and in a practical way—as an invitation to find peace, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

Qigong, Mindfulness & Nature—A Holistic Retreat

This Qigong retreat in the Eifel (North Rhine-Westphalia) combines movement, stillness, and nature into a holistic experience. Mindful hiking in the monastery’s surroundings gently supports the practice and helps you integrate what you’ve experienced.

The result is a restorative retreat where you can let go, recharge, and gather new strength for your daily life—calmly, clearly, and at your own pace.

Qigong—Gentle Health Promotion for Body, Heart, and Mind

Qigong is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and serves to promote and maintain health. Through calm, flowing movements combined with conscious breathing and mindfulness, body awareness is cultivated and deepened.

In practice, we experience just how much strength, calm, and vital energy already exist within us. Qigong helps us slow down, reduce stress, and find inner peace.

As part of Qigong’s holistic approach, we practice not only gentle movements but also breathing, meditation, and stillness.

Benefits of Qigong – Gentle & Lasting

Regular Qigong practice can:
improve concentration
promote flexibility of the spine and the entire musculoskeletal system
deepen and harmonize breathing
calm the nervous system
strengthen inner peace, stability, and serenity
Alongside Shiatsu and yoga, Qigong is a recognized method for supporting therapy and rehabilitation and is particularly well-suited for prevention and stress reduction.

Contents of the Qigong Prevention Course
Together, we’ll practice the traditional “18 Movements of Qigong” (as well as more advanced movement sequences if desired). These have a positive effect on:
- physical well-being
- posture and alignment
- breath flow and energy distribution
The exercises are structured so that they are easy to learn and can be continued independently at home—for lasting benefits beyond the retreat.

Who is this Qigong retreat suitable for?

Qigong is particularly gentle and versatile:
Practiced standing, sitting, or sometimes lying down
Suitable for all ages
Suitable for all fitness levels, even without prior experience
Whether you’re new to Qigong or already have experience—this Qigong retreat at the monastery offers you a safe, peaceful setting for your personal practice.

We look forward to seeing you. Warm regards, Peggy Böhmer

Accommodation

The Guest House at Steinfeld Abbey
In 2015, the new guest house at Steinfeld Abbey opened its doors. The former boarding school was converted into 64 rooms meeting high four-star standards. Only the floor plan and the stairwell serve as reminders that students once lived there. The double and single rooms, ranging in size from 25 m² to 30 m², and the two junior suites, each measuring 48 m², exude monastic simplicity combined with contemporary design and comfort.

They feature solid oak plank floors, natural stone in the bathrooms, and natural materials for fabrics, upholstery, and blankets. The comfortable box-spring beds are generously sized at 2.10 m in length. Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and telescoping reading lamps are standard features. Some of the double rooms are also equipped with a sleeper sofa. In addition, all rooms are wheelchair accessible, and we have three accessible rooms featuring panoramic windows. A glass elevator connects the three floors of the building.
The rooms are adorned with works of art from the Steinfelder Academy.

However, guests continue to enjoy the simple, monastic-style rooms in the monastery’s Baroque wing. The cozy single and double rooms are functionally equipped with a shower and toilet or feature a shared bathroom on the floor. In the double rooms, the beds are mostly separate. Inviting common areas are available for guests, especially for groups or families. Here you can spend the afternoon or evening hours in a relaxed atmosphere.

Incidentally, by staying at the monastery, you are making a valuable and important contribution to maintaining this old, historic building and spiritual, cultural site, and ensuring its continued operation. It’s a small contribution to the preservation and conservation of a unique cultural heritage.

Catering

In the morning, we’ll be treated to a hearty breakfast. A full meal is served at lunch and dinner as well. A salad bar is available, as well as a wide selection of fish, vegetarian, and vegan options. Full board is provided for our group but is not included in the seminar price. Special dietary needs (allergies) can be accommodated. Please specify these when making your reservation.
