Summary

A Week of Silent Self-Reflection

Sometimes it’s not a new answer that changes your life—but a new perspective.

Perhaps there are relationships that still weigh on your mind.

Experiences from the past that you’ve thought about many times.

Or questions about your own life to which, despite all your thinking, you can’t seem to find a real answer.

A Naikan week invites you to step away from your daily routine for seven days and consciously set aside time for yourself.

In silence, you’ll examine your life step by step from a new perspective—guided by a clear method of self-reflection and daily one-on-one sessions with an experienced Naikan facilitator.

Not to analyze or judge anything.

But to discover what may have remained hidden until now.

What is Naikan?

Naikan is a method of self-reflection developed in Japan.

It centers on three simple questions:

What have I received from others?
What have I given to others?
What difficulties have I caused others?

Using these questions, you reflect on your life—from childhood to the present.

Not in search of guilt or mistakes.

But with the desire to understand your own life more fully and to see your relationships in a new light.

Accommodation

Catering

During the Naikan week, you’ll enjoy three freshly prepared vegetarian meals each day. Meals are brought directly to your Naikan room on a tray during practice sessions, so that the silence and your personal rhythm of introspection are preserved. Coffee, tea, water, and fruit are available at all times.

We are happy to accommodate food intolerances or special dietary needs whenever possible.

sequence

The Naikan week begins with an introduction to the method and setting up one’s personal Naikan space. Throughout the week, participants devote themselves to Naikan introspection in silence. Several times a day, brief one-on-one sessions take place with the Naikan facilitator, who guides and supports the reflection process.

The daily schedule provides a clear and reliable framework, while at the same time allowing room for participants to follow their own rhythm. Anyone who needs a break can lie down, rest, or sleep at any time. Meals are brought directly to the Naikan huts during practice sessions. A group walking meditation is also offered daily in the adjacent forest.

On the last day, the Naikan week concludes with a group closing session and the opportunity to carry these experiences back into daily life.

The Naikan week begins on the first day at 7:00 p.m. and ends on the last day at approximately 10:00 a.m.
