Every day we hike to pristine places, be it untouched sandy bays,
cliffs or rugged rocky landscapes in the forest and create site-specific LandArt there with
preparation to create site-specific LandArt. Each day has a new theme that relates to the special conditions of the area. During the hikes, you will be introduced to flora and fauna with all your senses. The maximum walking time per day is 2.5 hours.
The LandArt works are created using materials on site so that no traces are left in nature.
no traces are left behind in nature. With what the special habitat
we create our own works of art, accompanied by theoretical explanations and practical
explanations and practical introductory exercises in LandArt. No previous
previous knowledge necessary. You will be introduced to the special features of the
of the environment and the theme of the day. Let yourself
be surprised by the unique works of art you create in the great outdoors.
Before creating the works, everyone will look for their own spot in nature where they can be
undisturbed...accompanied only by the sound of waves and birds.
LandArt also offers the perfect opportunity to be present in the here and now.
in the here and now: The works, created with care, love and often concentration, are returned to nature as we wander on.
we walk on, they are returned to the nature from which they originate. For them and for us
only the present counts for them and for us, and so when we create the works
thoughts that have nothing to do with the moment of immediate experience.
Building in nature develops a relationship with one's surroundings. You
what it connects to your soul, you come to yourself...experiencing nature in a very
individual.
Diana, tour guide and art educator, will lovingly accompany you on this journey, introduce you to the magic of creating LandArt installations and provide you with help and advice and one or two artistic tricks as you build your works. She will take photographs of the process so that everyone has a lasting memory of their ephemeral art. Karin Wimmeder, an artist with a special talent for LandArt and workshop leader from Salzburg, Austria, will also be spending two days on this trip. Her LandArt projects often contain symbols, signs and cosmograms as the essence of experiences and adventures. In her art, she incorporates space as such and its effect on people.
The thematic focus of LandArt on this trip is the element of water and the proximity to the African continent.
Your "studio" is the bay of Bolonia, which was awarded the title of "most beautiful bay in Spain" this year, and the hinterland with its bizarre rock formations in the eucalyptus forest. As there are so many different types of landscape in the immediate vicinity, the local transfers to the start of the hikes only take a few minutes. The longest journey of 35 minutes would be a bad weather alternative to the sculpture park in Vejer.
The accommodation is located directly by the sea and contributes to the holistic character of this trip.
Your tour guide, DIANA HEIL, is also an artist and environmental activist in Tarifa, Andalusia.
Originally an art teacher and geographer from Taunus, near Frankfurt, she has been living in Andalusia for more than 28 years, where she has been leading study tours for Studiosus since 1996. In the two and a half decades she has been a tour guide, she has benefited from her experience to create her own location tours, in which the recreational effect and the experience of the landscape as well as the botanical and culinary peculiarities are not neglected. SLOW TRAVEL avoids long journeys and changing apartments in order to arrive and immerse yourself in a landscape. Her trips all have a personal touch and are located in non-commercial areas.
"I want to give interested people a vacation experience that will benefit them in the long term. I try to deepen this through mindfulness and sensory impressions or explanations, so that the experience of what you see doesn't just remain on the surface. This special LandArt journey also offers the opportunity to awaken one's own creativity through nature. The special environment makes it easier for us to create a relaxing, introspective and connecting time together and to feel the presence in these powerful, rustic and idyllic places... to immerse ourselves in them with all our senses, to be inspired: From each other and with each other".
