Sometimes you need to step back from everyday life to hear your own voice again. In the intimate atmosphere of the Mountain Retreat Center—small, charming, and cozy—you’ll find that space quite naturally. Every room offers a view of the natural landscape of the Chiemgau region. The vastness outside mirrors the expansiveness that emerges when you write.
Angelica Schönherz guides you with extensive experience and a keen sense for nuance. As the initiator of the Rilke Project, she brings not only literary expertise but also the ability to mindfully guide people in their expression. Through a variety of creative writing exercises, you’ll sharpen your perception, play with images and rhythms, and distill both lived experiences and imagination into your own poems and short texts.
Selected works by significant poets serve as inspiration. In feedback sessions, you’ll experience how empowering resonance can be. The retreat is open to both beginners and advanced participants—what matters most is a love of words.
Look forward to:
- Poetic writing, guided by the creator of the “RILKE PROJECT”
- A variety of exercises and techniques from creative writing
- Finding your own voice
- Condensing texts
- Writing poems & stories
- Selected texts by great poets as a source of inspiration
- Exchange/feedback sessions and group writing
Between writing sessions, the surroundings and the house invite you to pause and reflect. Perhaps take a walk on one of the trails around the house, or relax in the Swiss stone pine sauna with a view of the mountains. The vegetarian-vegan full board provides light and mindful nourishment. Tea and water are available all day in the lounge area.

- Confidence in your own writing voice
- Creative clarity and new forms of expression
