Quiet end of the year & beginning of the year in the mountains

The days around the turn of the year and Epiphany are ideal for a little time out. A retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Ideal for winding down the old year in peace, reviewing it and getting in order, preparing for the new year. With all the excitement, challenges, joys and adventures it may bring.

Retreat to the Mountain Retreat Center in the Chiemgau mountains. The Retreat Center has 19 rooms with views of the impressive natural landscape of the Alps. It can happen that you are amazed out of nowhere. Again and again. Each of our rooms is a special kind of retreat in its own right. Small, fine, cozy. Some have their own bathroom and toilet, some share a bathroom and toilet with other program participants, but all have a washbasin in the room.

The full board at the Mountain Retreat Center is vegetarian and vegan. The most important meal of the day, at least according to the Chinese, is breakfast. That's why we also attach particular importance to a good, healthy breakfast - always including warm porridge. For lunch you enjoy soup, bread and spreads, and in the evening you are treated to a delicious buffet with salad, creative vegetarian-vegan main courses and a dessert. Always freshly cooked and as seasonal as possible. Intolerances can be catered for by prior arrangement.

Practice yoga in the morning and evening. Your breath carries you through flowing movements. Asanas (physical exercises) allow you to feel strength and flexibility. Meditation nourishes the mind. Would you like to spend one or more days in silence, withdraw or enjoy the company of the other guests? You decide the intensity of your retreat.
Fancy some winter sports? There is a small ski lift (incl. ski hire) and cross-country ski trails right next to the house. Ski tours can also be undertaken. The winter sports areas of the Zahmer Kaiser (Walchsee-Durchholzen, Ebbs) and Kössen, for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or tobogganing, are just a 30-minute drive away. The legendary ski resort of Kitzbühel is an hour away from Sachrang. Those in the mood for wellness can visit the "Hallo Du" thermal spa with a large sauna area in the neighboring village of Ebbs (10 km away). A visit to Kufstein (Tyrol, 19 km) or Aschau (12 km) is also worthwhile.

The Mountain Retreat Center is located in the German Chiemgau region, on the border with Austria.

Arrival by car
Take the A8 highway (coming from Munich or Salzburg) and exit at Frasdorf in the direction of Aschau, from there it is a 15-minute drive to Sachrang.

Arrival by train
Take the train or bus to Aschau or Prien im Chiemgau. From there you can either take the bus (few connections) or a cab to Sachrang.

Arrival by plane
The nearest airports are Munich or Salzburg: continue by train or bus.
