Do you live in a city and find the climate there unbearable? Is it too hot for you in the summer, with the air too stifling to breathe?
Recharge your batteries in the Swiss Valais at an altitude of over 1,600 meters.
Breathe in the fresh mountain air and find peace and a sense of calm in the forests around Grächen.
In cities, with their many buildings and streets, it often gets significantly hotter in the summer than in less built-up areas. Noise and traffic are additional stressors. Reason enough to get away and seek relaxation in nature. While Grächen statistically has 300 days of sunshine a year, at an altitude of over 1,600 meters temperatures usually remain bearable, and if it does get hot, the forest is right nearby—and also the venue for this retreat.
Every day, we spend several hours in the forest, finding peace, mindfully observing what we encounter in nature, how we interact with one another as participants, and how you connect with yourself.
In the forests around Grächen, alongside larch trees, Swiss stone pines (Arven) are the predominant species. In addition to the general benefits of forest air, these two trees are key to the health benefits of spending time in the forests around Grächen. I will introduce these trees in my blog.
You can expect to recharge through active relaxation in the fresh forest air and mindful observation of nature. The longer you allow yourself this experience, the more lasting the effects on your health and well-being are likely to be. But even just a weekend offers more rest than none at all.
